Nfl.com video: "Colin Kaepernick not an entirely different QB to Cam Newton"

Recommended Posts

I love all of these predictions. If we win it makes it all the more sweeter. The team has a ton of locker room material and all the chip on the shoulder mentality you could want. Rivera's teams play better in must win situations and this is our 6 game in a row that we have to win. Our boys have been under the gun for weeks and it seems to bring out their best. When have the Panthers won in the playoffs? When people doubted we could win like in 2003 and 2005. When we were considered even or favored we seem to play at our worse like in 2008 and 2013. From a talent point of view we match up well against Seattle. So really this game is going to come down to who wants it more. Who makes the big play or doesn't make the big mistake as we seem to do when we lose. Our guys need to be mad with a huge chip on their shoulder. It needs to be them against the world, backed in the corner, put up or shut up.

Because win or lose Cam and the rest of the team have gotten invaluable experience and it just grows exponentially if we move on to next week. We are knocking on the door wanting to join the exclusive party of perennial playoff teams. With each victory we push it open further until the day we bust it wide open and March right in. If we lose it happens next year, if we win it gets closer to being reality right now. What a crazy season.... I just hope it keeps getting crazier by going all the way. Tomorrow is a huge day for the team and the franchise.

"I think they're very similar, but Russell has this innate ability to pull up and throw at the last second [while scrambling]. Our guy [Newton], if he commits, he's going to run. I think that's one of the differences".---Ron Rivera

Cam Newton is either a statue or a running back. There is no in between.

Newton, Wilson and Kaepernick all share one common characteristic though: they are terrible at throwing the ball down field.

On the season on passes that travel over 10 yards in the air:

Newton: 43%

Wilson:  42%

Kaepernick: 38%

By way of comparison, Drew Brees completed 57% of his passes of over 10 yards in the air this season...that is nearly as good as Cam Newton's total completion percentage of 58.1%. Amazing, but true.

If Cam Newton was a terrible quarterback that had zero pocket presence and only made plays when faced with horrid secondaries and no pass rush, sure they are the same guy....

Jesus. How do these people get paid to cover games?

Unfortunately if they got guys that understood a thing or two about football, they would be in too much agreement, I.e. Not good tv in their minds. Many of the times they tell the former players which side of the argument to be on so points and counterpoints can be made to satisfy fans of both teams that are being talked about. In the end it is click bait material, imho.

True, some ESPN personalities like Heath Evans said that they are handed talking points and most times, their opinions aren't even organically their own. Just appeals to the majority of the idiot fanbase.

Does this stat include Throwaways?  Just wondering where it was from.

Another "analyst" spewing diarrhea from his mouth as his is justification as to why Richard Sherman will have 2 interceptions of Cam, one for a pick 6.

I as a fan don't need the panthers to win this game for my support of them but wouldn't it be so much better if we could shut fools like this up tomorrow? What say you?

What I'm most tired of are the these idiots who act like Cam Newton is incapable of beating you with his arm. As many balls as Benjamin has dropped, it's no wonder, including Cotchery's game-winning DROP in Cincinnati.

Fact that you haven't earned a whole pie yet just proves that people don't want to believe the truth about outfits like ESPN, or CNN, or TV news in general. It's all just one big brainwashing system, and most don't want to believe they're gullible enough to be victimized.
