Not trying to be an ass, but I think that's a terrible counterpoint.  The play action baited in the safeties.  You can see they both bit in the picture.  He had the 1-on-1, and even though Sherman got a good press, KB still got behind him.  Sherman's closest safety help was 5 yards behind the play.  It's the perfect situation, and Cam read it perfectly.  It's up to KB to fight off the press and get the 2 extra steps he needs to make the play, instead of getting sucked in and wearing Sherman as a cape, trying to lay out for one.

 

I was only giving the "easy" counterpoint which the talking heads of the media like to give out in their broad based criticisms.  =)

 

I will say that kind of regardless of what happened with the bump, KB has to come up with those balls.  He's 6,5 with arms that go on for ever.  He's just got to make that play in these big moments.  How many of these kind of plays have we seen this year?  Where Cam makes a heck of a throw, but guys just don't come down with it?  Rarely does this go against the receiver, but it almost always get's blamed on the QB.

 

It was a good play call and throw, but KB has to be there.  I am a Cam and Panther fan =)  This was simply one of those plays where the inches matter.

Haven't seen the video, but in the screen shot it looks as though Sherman has a hold of Kelvin's shoulders. Was there not enough for a PI call?

As we were discussing in the other thread, Cam does tend to overthrow receivers when his mechanics get wonky...  however, I have seen him ( more often than not ) place the ball EXACTLY perfectly where it should be...

 

This play is a good example of that and the pass to KB against ATL that would have been a TD had KB not dropped it is another one...

 

Cam hit KB literally right in the hands at a full speed run 40-50 yards down field in a spot where no one but KB could touch it...

I give Cam a hard time and it's not always his fault at all. But I've just come to expect that a QB in his fourth year would have finally gotten his footwork down and could hit wide open receivers. Cam could be great but he's wildly inconsistent. Tomorrow night he needs to show up and be perfect for us to win that game.
