I respect your commitment to Cam as a fan, but Russell Wilson was supposed backup Matt Flynn but forced the issue almost immediately. He was the third QB to enter the game in our first preseason game that year and had worked his way up to start by the final preseason game...he's never given up that position. Additionally, Wilson has quickly ascended to start in every situation that he has ever been in. I'm not saying that if Cam was there and the Panthers had drafted Wilson that Cam would have beaten him out....there's no way to know that. If you guys didn't have Cam though, I can pretty much assure you that Wilson would have found a wya to start.

As for your comments about Wilson in your system......have you seen the Hawk's system, WR's or O-Line? We run block well, but there's a reason Russell is often throwing on the run....our Pass Blocking can be a sieve and our receivers have been called "Pedestrian" many a time.

Obviously, I'm one of the votes for Russell BTW....I've seen too much of what he can do, and how he leads our team to go with a guy who may have all of the physical tools but appears to not have put all of them together just yet. :)

RW is essentially a one read and escape the pocket QB. You can blame the oline all you want but at a certain point you have admit that the QB is not helping. It was the same issue in Philly last season. Vick was getting killed until Foles stepped in. All of a sudden the oline was better. About WR, see Tate in DET. I am one of those who thinks RW hasn't shown anything close to being a decent pocket QB. It'll be frustrating as a WR or OC to work with him. Should Lynch retire next season, we will see the offense unravel IMO.

one of them has a ring, is the most winningest QB in their first three seasons and is the only QB to throw for 300 and run for 100 in the same game

the other one is Cam Newton

Wilson is 3-8 in games where the defense has been scored 20+ on. He hardly wins games. Credit his defense.

A team sport yet you claimed he was the winningest QB ever in their first three seasons? You can have it both ways. I think you guys have a pretty athletic defense. Offense is ok.

I can't hate on Russ, he's been really good when he's needed to be, especially against us. Problem when comparing the two is that Russ has had what Cam has needed for much of their careers (good defense, solid running game, coaching).

For the future, I'll take Cam all day due to the potential, but Russ has the SB win at such a young age and you can't take that away from him. This game will be very telling for Cam and how he handles the in-game adversity that will probably come in their building. He did pretty well after throwing that pick against 'Zona.

"wilson has a ring and won  xyz number of games"

...

"football is a team sport"

the panthers are so much better than Seattle and Newton is the better QB so he should have all those things instead

Wilson is a better QB....more consistent, better leader......there...happy?

seattle has a better defense, a ridiculous home field advantage, substantially better coaching, and has been a much better run franchise for years now.

on the other hand do you think the seahawks would be the same or worse if cam was dropped on that team tomorrow?

the current team....worse

the team next season if Lynch retires...the same or maybe better depending on who took Lynch's spot

People here will smash this all out of context and defend their QB, as well they should, just like I do mine....I personally think Wilson is a more complete QB.
