PSLs for our "New Atlanta stadium"

Oh yes, the Dome was long paid off...it could probably use a facelift in a few areas but the NFL wouldn't promise Artie a Super Bowl unless he built something brand new...it's mind boggling.

lol... Jerry Richardson was promised a Super Bowl by Tagliabue when he was getting ready to build as well. We all know how that went.

In the meantime, the league keeps putting on games in the Louisiana Septic Leach Field known as the Mercedes Benz Superdome.

Seattle brought in flex pricing this season finally....my preseason tickets are $100 each and then they tiered the regular season into two groups...$145 for one and $155 for the other.  I was very fortunate on my PSL as I bought them from the Hawks a couple years back for $2,000 each....and I'm about the 35 yard line, 10 rows up.

At the risk of boring the crap outta long-time Huddlers, as a charter member of the PSL owner's club, I'll give you my perspective.

Don't buy them. I made the purchase of PSLs in 1994 because I incorrectly assumed the stadium in Charlotte would be filled with fans every Sunday. I assumed incorrectly. Long story short, as soon as I realized a fan could buy a ticket to any game since 1998 on any street corner around the stadium on game day, I knew the cost of PSLs and the tickets weren't worth the money.

Yeah, I know people want to sit in the same seats with the same group of people around them, but the NFL game day experience includes sitting in different areas of the stadium. I spent 3-4 seasons up in 545, upgraded to field level on the visitor side (and got into an epic shouting match with Kyle Turley one Sunday afternoon), didn't enjoy one season in club level and eventually moved into the east end zone, where we watched for the last 10 seasons before selling the PSLs.

Now, if I want to make the trip to Charlotte, I can call the guy I sold the PSLs to and see if he wants to get rid of a couple tickets. If not, I've been able to score a pair of seats within a few minutes. In the entire history of the team, I can think of maybe 4 or 5 games where tickets were either difficult to come by or relatively costly (more than face value).

Case in point, the guy who bought my PSLs wanted to sell his seats to last Saturday's playoff game. Face value was $120, I posted them here on the Huddle for him at $100 each and got no responses. He went to the game, sold both the tickets for $175 and bought himself a club seat out of the weather for $100.

I bought mine on the secondary market. I negotiated like hell and played the waiting game and got each one at less than half face value. Not sure if ATL will allow people to resell them or not. I'm getting ready to buy two more but I love going so to me it's well worth it. The thing I like best is I know everybody around me now so it's like a family gathering every Sunday.

honest question....do you have to have PSL's in Charlotte to be able to buy season tickets?

you don't in Seattle....but I bought the PSL's as it was the best way to upgrade to the lower bowl from my upper bowl tickets.

The short answer is, "Yes."

But there are a shipload of PSL owners who have never, do not currently and will not in the future attend any games who offer their entire season's worth of tickets for sale. Easy to find in the Charlotte newspaper, eBay, craigslist, etc.

I know a couple people who own multiple PSLs and they sell their upper levels and keep the lowers for themselves, for example. Friend of mine has 4 lower seats together and 2 upper together. He sells the uppers every year to the same guy for the last 7-8 years and sells two of the lowers to another person for the last few years, while keeping the other pair either for himself or a short notice sell if he can't make it.

But to purchase them from the organization, yes, you must own the PSL.
