Philly is thrown to as much as he is used for gadget plays.  I don't see any harm in bringing up a guy with speed to fill that role.

Dude has had some teeder deep balls dropped, and again amazing catches. Seems to be the case for Hill too. He's made some incredible catches but drops.

I mean it helps that the only way Hill seems to know how to catch happens to be Philly's signature move. I'd feel a lot safer with Webb though.

Our entire wide receiving corp has struggled. We have players dropping balls, quitting on routes, etc...

That leads me to believe that their is some other reason for his permanent residence on the practice squad.

Not to mention, I believe it was reported earlier in the year that he wasn't grasping the playbook.

Plus I'd rather admit that I don't know why Hill hasn't been called up rather than making something up.

But hey, good post... way to live up to that badass reputation.

It doesnt matter if stephen hill can catch the ball or not, the defense has to respect his speed and that in and of itself is more valuable than what Bersin could present.

At this point, that's the reality.

Just take away the safety help and open up room for Olsen.

Ironically, Dallas did that quite a bit with Bryant earlier in the season.

No one is trying to be a bad ass or anything else. I am simple remarking that unless you know the answer to the question, be willing to listen and learn to what others who do know with an open mind. Do you see me commenting about this topic indicating I know what is going on or why he isn't playing? No because I have no clue and unlike you don't decide on a conclusion until I have enough information to at least make an informed opinion.

Not even close. On every play a receiver has multiple responsibilities. Understanding the playbook is only the beginning. Depending on what the defense is doing he would need to know how to run each route, when to break it off, when he is the hot read, whether because they changed the play he now is going to be a blocker, is going to get the ball on an end around like Philly did etcetera.

To say all he has to do is run down the field without acknowledging that we installed a whole package just for Seattle is being naive.

Yea because no WR has ever joined a team late and played right away. He's had practice he's not going in there blind.

I am leaving the decison up to Rivera and the coaching staff on whether to start Hill or not and going along with their final decision. They watch him every day in practice and should know if he brings enough to the table to start. There is no doubting he has the speed we need but i have no idea if he has the total skillset and knowledge the coaches are looking for.

Who said anything about starting? We want him on the field in 3 WR sets to stretch the defense. Don't think anyone is claiming he should start.
