DeAngelo Williams Future?

I understand the sentiment about Deangelo.... but I think we have to remember that we thought the same thing about Jonathan Stewart for a few years.

 

The history of their careers actually shows us that Stew is the more injury prone back. They have both stepped up when the other one was either struggling or injured. I believe DWill is still the all time leading rusher for the Panthers.

 

I love them both... but if he's gone, we really need to address some depth issues. Do we really think Fozzy is good enough to replace him?

I think he deserves to retire a Panther.... but If we got rid of Steve Smith... then we'd certainly let go of D'will.

Fozzy's 39yd TD catch and run put a nail in that coffin.  DW is a great guy and we've been lucky to have him, no matter what a lot of people think.  he was offered a ridiculous contract and took it, all of us would, so that's not on him. I wish him nothing but the best in whatever he does after this season.

I honestly don't think there's any doubt about Fozzy's ability.  Sure, I questioned his success in the pre-season, going against 2nd/3rd string defenses, but he's shown many times in the regular season that he can get the rock down field.  He has good vision, and when he sees a hole open up, he hits it... very quickly.  He seems like a nightmare in open space to.  Slippery SOB, you'd think he should be down, and somehow makes people miss.  I'm personally excited about Fozzy and what he can do for this team.  I'd like to see him getting D-Will's, and Tolbert's snaps.  I still think it's pretty silly that they line Tolbert up as a tailback a lot.

Heck no. I mean you can't retire every player that had one great season. Which really is all he did

Will be sad to see him go and I hope he retires instead of playing for a different team. Hope he sticks around the team...may be cool to hire him as a coaching assistant like how Ricky Proehl started.

dlo is just a quality decoy at this point i say when he goes in we only play action and run reads with cam keeping lol.....oh and run a draw with him later once they catch on but thats just me
