Frank Alexander likely inactive again.

What evidence is there that Kyle is a run stuffing DT?  Maybe he is, but there isn't much evidence of it.  He hasn't played much over the last couple of years, and when he did play a lot (for NE in 2011/12), they didn't exactly stuff their opponents running games.

He is a big fat guy that clogs up the middle (which is what we lost in Star)....that is what he has always been.

Alexander is a DE.

Not hard to understand.

I understand your point, but I am not convinced.

He is a big guy, but whether or not he clogs up the middle remains to be seen. There certainly isn't any evidence of past success in that regard.

I don't see how Rivera could justify not having Alexander active for this game.  It would be like trying to help the Seahawks to win.  If this guy can provide you a valuable pass rush, the flip do you have him inactive?  It would be like trying to argue 2 + 2 really equals 5.

I was told there'd be no math involved

Does anyone remember what games Star missed this season and if our run D still did well without him? If I'm not mistaken wasn't he out the Lions game and our run D still did just fine?!

Lotulelei missed two games earlier this season. The Panthers went 0-2 without him but held up well against the run, surrendering just 89 rush yards per game and 3.49 yards per carry, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

"Colin Cole will assume a bigger role for us," Rivera said. "He's been a solid and steady force for us, such a space-eater inside, holds the double-team at the point of attack and helps to allow our linebackers to run."
