Well to be fair, he was a safety only in name at Georgia. He alternated play down in the box as a rush/dog strong side lb and an in the box free safety. He played very little in a traditional free safety role.

I will sound it out for you. He was a safety in college. When the Panthers drafted him, they already had him projected as a linebacker. They didn't get him into camp and be like poo man this guy needs to be a linebacker.

Being drafted as a linebacker in no way indicates I was saying he was a linebacker in college. Especially with the previous progress in the conversation. You wiffed on your insult homerun swing bro.

True, Davis was more of a hybrid LB/FS at Georgia but when he was drafted many fans and analysts viewed him strictly as a box safety. Half of the season though, he was primarily employed as a rush LB.

He was not viewed as a safety in the draft man. You are wrong.
