The "Ask a Seahawk Fan" Thread

Beast Mode

Recommended Posts

my buddy moved to Washington a few years back.. he said it's actually not a bad place, and that the people are nice. He did say it is pretty difficult to find Seahawks fans with actual knowledge about the team, but bandwagons aren't new to sports.

At least these 'Hawks fans are being respectful, so should we let them live.....

Why do yall call yourself the "12th Man" but have "Fan" on the back of the #12 jerseys? Is that a trademark issue or something? Thanks

When the team retired the #12 in honor of the fans in 1984, they put "FAN" on the banner signifying the retired number. I've got a 12 jersey, but I really don't care for the FAN nameplate on it. Would rather they had kept it blank.

End well, this will not.

Hahaha.  I apologize ahead of time.

What can you do as a fanbase to not get on the level of douchebaggery that the Saints and 49ers are currently at?

At the pace that the bandwagonning is occuring in Seattle, you might have to tell your brethren to chill on the caffeine.

Whew.. tough one.

The obvious answer is to probably stop winning.. I mean it's impossible to prevent people from bandwagoning.  Every fan base has those fans crawl out from the gutter during success.  Look how silent Cowboys fans were for a decade.. the 49er fans were the same way pre-Harbaugh.  Honestly never met a Saints fan in my life before Brees/Payton showed up.  It happens to every team really.  When the Panthers hit that stage, it will happen to you guys as well.  The crappy thing about sports really.

But at least Seahawk fans don't stab people in the bathroom.. so we're still ahead of 49er fans.

Pretty sure this is the case.  I personally refuse to buy one of those things because I think it's a dumb gimmick.. but to each their own.

Quite a few.. but I'd be lying if I said our fan base hasn't grown exponentially in the past 2 years.  Lord knows what will happen if they pull off the repeat.

Haha.  Well to be fair.. my Warren Moon jersey would be a bit snug on me right about now ;)  And I have no idea what happened to it given I was a young teenager at the time.

From your posts, I can tell that you are indeed an old fart just like I am. :jig:

Will you take responsibility for Creed and Nickleback?

Whoa whoa whoa.

Nickelback is Canadian

Creed is Tallahassee, FL

Seattle is Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Heart, Pearl Jam, etc.   Don't you dare blame them for Nickelback.. thats low.

I'm a big Legion of Boom fan.

How's Kam Chancellor? Safeties like him have short life expectancies.

He's as healthy as he will be until the season ends.  Will probably have surgery in the offseason as he's been playing on a bad ankle all year but is wearing a special cleat to alleviate the pain.  Kam is a monster though.. and the anti-Sherman in attitude (though I of course LOVE Sherman and all the arrogance that comes with him)

Shhhhh!  Don't let people know Seattle is a beautiful city.  It's rainy, gloomy and full of everything awful.  Stay away.  ;)
