I was 10...  I can even remember when they came in to the league because we collected these little plastic football helmets you could buy from vending machines at the grocery store and Seattle was well sought after...  We thought the helmet was so cool and they were hard to come by...  Good times...  Now Panthers go kick their ass !!   :-)

 

 

How about the Pencils?   We had a pencil machine at school that dispensed NFL pencils (the one with the striped edges in team colors/name)  A nickel....  I wasted many.

 

The helmets rocked, used to line them up like warriors going to battle on the Window sill.

Holy hell... I remember those helmets!  And the sticker machines too. 

 

Also had like 100 of those pencils with those god awful erasers that would just smudge the lead all over the place .. but it said Seahawks on them so I was repping that in elementary school.  Also had a lunchbox. 

 

Also to totally age myself right now.. I remember having the NFL CLUB FOR KIDS book (or something along those lines) .. and our mascot was like.. Sandy Seahawk or some crap.  I tried google image searching it but it just brought up half naked chicks named Sandy in random NFL attire.  But trust me it was legit.  An entire book that had mascots running amok in the world.

Any Micronauts?    Aurora slot car tracks?  Black and white TV in the bedroom?

 

So you remember when the coverage was all Pittsburgh, Dallas, Redskins and sometimes Raiders.

 

It was like no matter where you were at, those teams (especially Pitt and Dallas) were available to see every week.

 

Miami was still riding pretty high on their success, but it just seemed like the coverage was non-stop for the Steelers.   Heh.. maybe the Brian Sipe Browns.

 

You are seriously bringing back a lot of memories.

 

We had no team here and I hated the skins and falcons....I was a Raiders fan.

I hear ya, I went from So Cal to Oregon where there was NOTHING except for the TrailBlazers.   The Raiders/Niners were the feature teams until the Hawks inception and the Niners sucked.  Their colors, their football team, the whole thing.  It was easy to latch on to the Raiders back then because even though you were on the East coast, you were able to see them covered pretty well huh?

 

I swear, those four teams were the market of the NFL back then.
