They're tough to hate

I live in the Denver area, and the local Broncos fans seem to have no problem hating me.  :thumbsu:

Of course, they're not all that smart... most of them were wearing The Golden Calf of Bristol jerseys before they switched to Manning jerseys.

Do you know a female Seahawks fan in Denver? Overweight, likes to punch Panthers fans in a Panthers bar?

All the Broncos fans have nothing but good things to say about the Panthers but then we didn't embarrass them in the Super Bowl

While I've seen a few other Seahawks fans in this area, I can honestly say I haven't seen a female one other than my wife. And she's as likely to punch someone in a bar as Colin Kaepernick is to undergo tattoo removal laser surgery. Sorry.

Funny thing about the Broncos fans at my workplace is that early in 2013, there was genuine goodwill between me and them. It was all, "Your team is looking really good right now. Keep it up! Good luck!" By December, it was all talk of the playoffs and the outside chance that our teams could make the SB. By January, they were all taking potshots at me as they walked by my desk. I just smiled and laughed along. It got real quiet on February 3.

This year, they still like to give me digs, but they're more subdued now.

Have you been to Crystal Mtn? A friend of mine who is very nice on the mountain enjoyed it there. BC is great but if you want to stay in the states I feel Colorado and Utah have the best snow as it is much drier.

I haven't been, no.  There's lots of hidden gems in BC for sure...I'm pretty much out of the ski scene these days though...blow my back out really badly about 6 or 7 years ago.

never been to the Banff Film Festival but I hear it's awesome.  Banff is typicaly pretty busy anyway...so I try to stay away from it when there's special events going on.  Up the road, Jasper is awesome too and way less crowded.

From your posts, I can tell that you are indeed an old fart just like I am. :jig:

I am likely older than both of you.   I remember getting a Seahawks' lettermen jacket with the vinyl sleeves for xmas in 1977.  I was already 10 then.   Coming from a family of Steeler fans relocated from PA to OR, it was hard to come by Seahawks gear.  I do remember the first game against St. Louis Cardinals though.   I saw those crazy blue unis and instantly became a fan.

I remember OJ running wild.

I remember Cosell calling MNF   :)

I am older than dirt.

Do you guys seriously think you have the "best and loudest" fans in the NFL or do most fans have perspective and realize that the stadium design is what makes it louder?

We know the design is there, but we still have to make the noise for it to work.   The Kingdome was crazy loud and I remember thinking that an outdoor stadium would hurt us, but it only made us try harder.

I have sat in the same section since 2002 and I can't remember the last time I sat down during a game during a defensive series.   Most in that area stand for the entire game and sit during the breaks, everybody screams because we know the stadium is designed to direct the noise.   After being to 7 different stadiums, I have never seen it happen like that anywhere else.  Even KC.

It isn't really about the level of the noise as much as it is consistently happening.  If you are really drunk and go too far, your voice will start to crack in the 2nd half and it can be reduced, but done properly it can be maintained for most of the game.

I don't think Seahawks fans are "the best" and I do think the stadium helps, but I believe the fans themselves are louder than normal. Not individually, but as a group. Like a higher percentage of them are screamers than typical sports crowds.

My theory is that it all comes from the same place as our high number of serial killers, angsty musicians, the "Seattle Freeze" social isolation phenomena, etc. As a region we're pretty buttoned-up and when people have a release they give it a lot of energy.
