Simulating Crowd Noise

I was reading David Newton's latest article about how the Panthers are practicing in the stadium this week. While they are doing their best to simulate the noise in Seattle, most of the players are saying that it's not quite the same.

Per Colin Cole: “The noise, it’s very hard to duplicate," said Panthers defensive tackle Colin Cole, who spent the 2009-2011 seasons with Seattle. “It’s not something that is duplicable unless we have a dome and you’re pumping noise in throughout the entire dome.

 

So I had a random idea that will never see the light of day.

 

Why don't they do another fan-fest type practice, invite whoever wants to show up to the stadium, and (because, like fan-fest, it likely won't fill up) invite people to bring whatever obnoxious noisemakers (trash can lids, clackers, etc.) they can find. The only way to simulate noise throughout the stadium is to fill the stadium. It also gets everyone involved because the whole state wants another playoff win.

 

I know it's ridiculous, but just my two cents. What say you?

Two reasons it wouldn't work.

 

1) 0% chance we could even come close to the noise level.

2) We don't want practice open to the public before a playoff game.

1) I think a crowd with normally banned noisemakers could get there

2) I agree. It would have to be a vanilla offense, but would be good snap count and audible practice.

ridiculous imo. there are other ways to get noise in there. rivera could also mandate complete silence during post-playcall adjustments.
