We Can't Let Russell Wilson Slide on Us

I'd rather he slide than keep running.

and I'd rather he slide than miss how many games like RG3 did etc?  Russell is smart enough to slide when he needs to...it's called longevity and living to play another play.

I'm not so sure Cam took a hit on that play as much as he delivered one. The tackler coming in from the right got knocked back 3 yards.

Someone tell Harper that we've got a pool going for who can hit the QB. TD delivers some nasty hits... I think he hit Turbin with one last game. I'd love to see him knock Wilson silly.

There is nothing unsportsmanlike or dirty about this idea.

If you want to build houses you have to be able to get your finger smashed with a hammer and continue.

If you want to be a seamstress you have to be prepared to sew your fingers to the cloth.

If you want to be a running QB you have to be prepared to get hit.  Simple and plain.

So Russell Wilson loves to slide. It's probably because he's so low to the ground already that it just comes easy for him. I swear sometimes, I think that he forgets that he's not playing baseball. We've got to remind him that this is football. It's going to fall on the back end to lay the wood before he can get down. I'm talking Kuechly, Davis, Norman, Benwikere, Harper, Jones and Boston. If this Bruno Mars looking mother F-er wants to step out the pocket and pick up yards on us, then we have to make him pay with pain. We cannot let him impose his will on us by sliding.

Moreover, when he's in the pocket we've got to hit him. Even if we can't get the sack, we've got to get hits, hurries and knockdowns. Unpopular opinion here, but I personally wouldn't even be opposed to an early 15 yard penalty for a late hit, just to set the tone and let him know from the get-go, "We're going to hit you." It's about attitude and imposing our will.

Real QBs take hits.

Generally speaking, Russell slides after he has made enough yards for a first down OR if he is running on 1st or 2nd down. He has shown a willingness to lower his shoulder or spin off of hits in order to get the yardage for a First Down when he's running on 3rd or 4th down.  He's fairly slippery and elusive....and a certain part of that may be because he's a smaller target.

It's hard at times for CJ to bring him down, you think Colin Jones can? If we blitz, and he eludes the tackle, we're fuged.

I like the idea of Colin if and only if the DL plays the containment game. Colin has speed, kinda built like a LB and is more athletic than most people on this board gives him credit for. I would not be surprised if he sacked RW once or twice before the game is over.
