I got a similar one as you posted Jbro last night from pay pal, everything fine.

But today, I got this..................

You have initiated a payment for $32.15 USD to [email protected].

Transaction details

Amount: $32.15 USD

Transaction ID: 5S3877003MH5322T

Because the payment was made from an virtual ip address, we put the transaction on hold.

To cancel this payment, please follow the link below:

(which I won't include)

Now.......my thoughts....

Notice the TO: address, and the subject?

Not sure why I would be receiving this, as I use pay pal all the time, and this is a first for something like this. Maybe just a coincidence, and I really hope so.

So, When I click on the link, it tells me if I want to if I want to continue, I must enter my paypal password, user name etc.

I did report it to pay pal, and they wrote me back and told me it was a clear cut case at phishing, and they were sorry, and were trying to eliminate such cases.

So...hopefully all is fine, and I'll be reading my ESPN, and checking ESPN insider soon! :cheers2:

Just goes to show, you have to be careful what you open, and divulge to someone on the interwebz. :D

Thank GOD I knew better. :cheers2:

I have a receipt of payment, but they've yet to charge my credit card.

PS

Anyone who has Discover can create/generate "temporary" credit card numbers for transactions using their, "Secure Online Account Numbers."

These can only be used by the original company who charges it, so once the company you trust uses it, no one else can. They last 6 months, too, so I use them for iTunes, PayPal, etc. and never worry about ID theft.

Just look at the bottom of your main DiscoverCard.com page.

Sorry to bump this since it isn't Panthers related. But ever since this was posted I've been checking that site daily and seriously considering some of the items they put up. But I've also seen some ripoff reports and complaints about that site.

Wanted to know if you guys have been satisfied so far with the transaction.

  • 3 weeks later...

Not yet. Was thinking the same thing.

It said allow 4-6 weeks before you will receive the magazine at the time of transaction. Insider info is supposed to be included at that time as well.

The charge appeared on my card a few days after the transaction. Nothing suspicious ever since. If a couple months goes by and I still have no sign of the magazine I'll just make a claim on my credit card and get the money back.
