Who thinks we'll actually beat Seattle on Saturday?

Serious question. Has Russell ever gotten completely rocked? I'm mean, like "CJ unblocked" rocked? Like driven into the ground and rattled? I've never seen it. It would be nice to be the team that introduced him to a little bit of shell shock and see how he responds.

I've never seen it. He usually either spins out of it or gets the ball out quick. He has crazy good awareness. Actually, now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure CJ rocked him and made him fumble in 2013 game against us. Also, didn't Aldon Smith rock him and made him fumble in the NFC championship game last year?

He's been popped a few times.. but it's very rare.  Not only is he incredibly elusive and hard to bring down.. he's smart.  He knows when to slide and live another day, unlike many mobile QB's.

Because Alex Smith did..

Alex Smith last won in Seattle long before this defense was doing what it's doing now.  Not to mention, our QB was Tarvaris Jackson that day.

I mean, again, I won't say the Panthers have 0% chance to win this weekend.. because that's obviously not the case.  Hell, the Seahawks lost to Arizona last year in a game Palmer threw 4 picks.. so nothing is impossible come Saturday.

But the Seahawks take it to a whole different level at home.  They feed off the crowd noise and their defense flies around on the turf as opposed to the natural grass in Charlotte... and for whatever reason, this team just flat blows the doors off teams in night games (not saying that will be the case, just speaking of recent night games).

I do think our defense can hang with Seattle's offense. We've shut down better WRs than the Seahawks have in Jackson/Evans, Gordon, Julio Jones, and Fitzgerald. Lynch has always struggled with our front 7 (averages 63 rush ypg in the last 3 games against the Panthers).

As has been the case with all of our recent games with the Seahawks, can the Panthers offense do anything vs. Seattle's defense? That will be the key matchup.

Honestly no, I would love it if we did, but if Aaron Rodgers nor Peyton Manning couldn't win there this year, why should I believe we can?

Seriously though.. did you watch our recent games vs. them?  We are so much better than we were then.  I honestly think the better question is why cant we?

Who doesn't love a good underdog story?  Its one of the best things in sports..  I understand why people think we dont have a good chance...but to say that we CANT win??  You just cant truly appreciate whats great about sports if you feel that way.

Guess you consider 6-6 in the 4th quarter against the Rams "comfortably in the lead".........

No, I wasn't comfortable at that point....I was pretty PO'd to be honest...especially considering how one sided the stats were.....but that tie changed quickly to 20-6 for the Hawks with 12:07 left in the game...and true to the words in my post, we kneeled out the last 2 minutes of the game from the Rams 30 yard line.

Hard to say.....I'd bet neither team scores 20 before halftime for sure.....the Hawks have tended to start slowly this year and pull away late in the game.  And we have been under 21 for the last 2 home games (I know this because we get free beef jerky and Slurpees from 7/11 if we score 21 or more, lol).  In most of our games though, we've run out the last 4-5 mins of clock and taken knees well within field goal range.

Do y'all really get free beef jerky and slurpees? What kind of beef jerky? If we score 20 or more we get Papa John's pizza buy one get one free. If we win we get a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts for $3.99.

The problem with your assertion that you've shut down better WR's than the Seahawks have is that you are focusing too much on 1 receiver....The Hawks don't have a premier receiver partially because Russell Wilson considers himself a "Point Guard" who likes to spread the ball around....so shut down our best receiver and our other 3 or 4 may still get yardage on you.

You guys have slowed Marshawn, for sure....but he has a tendency to really step up under the lights in Century Link.  Certainly Kuechly has been a big part of your relative success vs the Hawks..

Yep, they call it the "Oberto End Zone Assault" - You walk into 7/11 with your ticket if the Hawks score more than 21 and you can get a small slurpee (value of about a buck) and a bag of Oberto Beef Jerky (I think they are sold nationally, but the are a local company and really good).  The Beef Jerky is tagged at $6.99. :)

Love your logic.....use stats when they favor you and then discount them when they don't.

You do fit in well here.
