Who thinks we'll actually beat Seattle on Saturday?

Pressure the QB but contain the edges. Star, KK and Dwan will be key to getting into QBs face from the interior. DBs must disciplined in coverages. Every sack will have to be a coverage sack and that's ok.

I believe Luke and/or TD will cause a turnover.

On offense, establish a solid run gain and get positive yards on early downs. Keep 3rd downs manageable.

Play smart. Sounds simple but:

Having the ball > not having the ball by forcing a play where there is none.

To me it comes down Special Teams.

To win this game we have grind out a defensive game

That means lots of punting and a field position battle. What occured last week will means a loss. Can we solve our horrible special teams?

Count me in. The mere fact that all the Hawks fans don't even think we are worthy of playing in this game and we are 11 point underdogs just tells me something crazy is about to happen. This entire season makes no sense yet here we are. I think we will win by 10 plus points.

When a team can run the ball AND stop the run as well as this team has been doing, anything is possible. If we can somehow uncork Stewart and get him going instead of putting the game on Cam's shoulders then we have a shot. I really think our defense will be able to shut down Wilson and Lynch, they have done a great job in prior games against them.

I also think that cam is going to have one of his best games as a pro. He wants this so bad. Luke and Thomas are going to be leaders of men on defense. The Hawks are not going to know what hit them. The easy win they are predicting will turn into one of their most disappointing playoff losses. The lack of respect is why this will happen. Go Panthers! I can't wait till Saturday night.

I won't make any predictions as far as points or stats because as petty as it sounds, the one week I didn't, we won......and haven't lost yet. (And I havent predicted either, as much as I wanted to)

However, I will say this is a game I believe we lose 6 out of 10 times considering the holes we have at important positions and also playing in Seattle. I do believe it is winnable. Here's hoping it's one of the 4 Saturday.

You are excused. Did you watch the game?

One of their field goals wasn't off a turnover.

Seattle got a big chunk of their total yardage on the last play of the 1st half on a sorta hail Mary and the guy ran 40 yards before being tackled to end the half

Seattle only had one more 1st down than the Rams

The Rams fumbled the ball at the goal line going in fot a TD resulting in a touchback.

The Rams killed at least 3 drives with silly penalties

The only reason Seattle scored any TDS was because of two freak interceptions by the Rams where a DL had a pick when QB was spiking the ball on a busted screen, and a WR bobbles the ball and dropped it right into a Hawks player's arms who ran it back for a TD.

St Louis outplayed the Hawks, and their own mistakes cost them the game.

I'm not the foremost expert on ownage, but teeray just owned.

Punch them in the mouth on D. Run the ball right down there throat with Stew. Couple of screens throughout the game to Fozzy. D-Will on some sweeps. Utilize the play action and throw in some Cam runs on 3rd down. Couple of deep throws to Benji and Philly (if he plays). Game Plan of the year.

I happen to agree with your sentiment - I do think that you guys would have given up more than 77 yards on defense though if you haven't given them such short fields.

They scored zero points and had a grand total of 12 yards of offense in the second half.

So, once again, you are categorically wrong.

Thanks for playing but you are BY FAR the weakest link.

Goodbye

Yes, I watched the game - I was there...

As far as the field goal that was not off of a turnover....that drive started at the 50 because our Gunner Ricardo Lockette inexplicably ran into the guy who fair caught the punt a good 3 seconds after the punt was fair caught - that drive progressed about 30 yards before stalling and resulting in a TD.

The Baldwin catch at the end of the first half was for 38 yards - the Hawks won the total yardage by a total of 354 to 203 - even if you take away the 38 yard catch, the hawks still win the yardage battle by over 100 yards.

As for first downs, when a team averages more yards per play sometimes it results in less overall first downs.

As for the Rams killing drives with Penalties - You really haven't watched the Hawks this year, have you?  The Rams game may have been an exception, but the Hawks are generally good for 3 drive killing penalties a game themselves.

As far as the 3 turnovers - you poo poo them like the Rams were inept and just gave Seattle the ball - The fumble on the goal-line and resulting touchback to Seattle was one of the Defensive Plays of the Year and was made by Earl Thomas karate chopping the ball out of the runner's hands as he reached for the End Zone and then scooping the ball out of bounds for the touchback.  The QB spike INT was fluky, but still was the result of a heads-up play by Jordan Hill and finally, the Bruce Irvin Pick 6 was not a result of the Rams player "Bobbling the ball" but was rather a DIRECT result of Bobby Wagner PUNCHING the ball out (which the Hawks have shown a propensity for doing under Coach Carroll)

I really don't see how ANYONE could watch that game and feel that the Rams outplayed the Hawks.....

if Cam plays well, we win. If we have a couple of turnovers, we lose.

Car O v Sea O - Car

Car D v Sea D - Push

Car ST v Sea ST - Sea

A bounce here or a big play there will be the difference.

Come on man. I always expect a win considering my fandom.

But Seattle's defense is better than ours and so is their offense. Numbers don't lie. We out match them in a few position groups but overall they are better on both sides of the ball and ST and this doesn't include coaching.

Does that mean they will win? No. I think and expect us too but Seattle is for real. They don't blow you out on the scoreboard, they blow you out in the box score.

It will be a tough challenge for our young team but I have faith. A confident and on fire Cam Newton is something R. Wilson could never be. We go as far as Cam takes us. Not worried about the defense. They will keep us in the game.
