DeAngelo Williams vs Frank Alexander

Ya'll do realize the Falcons game was the first time we dressed out 9 D Linemen under Rivera?

With that said, I'm dressing out both, and sitting someone else.

It's the playoffs, another starter on D needs to play special teams, and one of the special teams only players will have to sit.

Also I know they didn't get hurt in the actual Seahawks game in '05, but because of that I'm going into Seattle with as many RB's as possible.

No way is Alexander deactivated with Russell Wilson scampering around back there. We will need every last pass rusher we have on the squad.

Ball control and punishing the Cards front 7 was the name of the game on Saturday. Pass rush will be way more important with Russell than it was with Lindley.

DWill should be deactivated...Tolbert, Fozzy, Stew should be the RB lineup.

For anyone picking Frank over DeAngelo, you must have not been here during the 2005 playoff run when we couldn't find a running back who was healthy.  In our scheme running backs are more important than backup D linemen who were suspended most of the year.  If I had to choose between Frank and Williams I would pick Williams.  My preference would be to have both of them active and inactivate someone else.

I would rather deactivate Joe Webb or Carrington Byndom and rotate in both #34 and #90.

As much as people like to talk about how much better Stewart is than Williams these days (which is true), I think we'll need them both to beat Seattle, with a healthy dosage of Cam and Tolbert too.

I think that against this Seattle secondary (their LBs don't scare me) running the rock 30+ times while passing it only 20-25 is the way to go.

Deactivate someone else.

Philly Brown is my choice if he is still hurting. This will allow more targets for KB and Olsen. Cotchery will need to step up as the #3 receiving targets.

Olsen, Dickson, Swole, KB, Cotchery, and Bersin are all we need in the passing game against the Seahawks DBs. Need size and to play BBall against those DBs. You can send KB down the left sideline on a fade route to stretch Sherman and Earl Thomas. This will open up the rest of the field opposite KB for several 1 on 1 match-ups and RB screens. After the previous outing KB dealt the Seahawks I guarantee you they will be tossing Earl Thomas to KB to help Sherman.

And remember we can put DeAngelo Williams out at WR too in a spread offense.

If you keep Philly because he is healthy, you deactivate Brandon Williams.

Brandon is a key special teams contributer. So no thanks.
