Someone Finally "Gets" Cam Newton

One thing I learned about Americans is that they dislike super confident individuals. They want to see you do your job and shut the hell up or act like nothing happened. They want you to make a great play then pretend to be intensely docile and focused on the next play. People dont like seeing people having more fun than them. Deon Sanders would have been hated here in Carolina too.

True, but so many loved Brett Favre and his exuberance for the game. Many of us loved Jake Delhomme and him wearing his heart on his sleeve. Many of the same people think Joe Namath was cool, with his flamboyance and self-assurance. They like Aaron Rodgers swagger and confidence.

But from some reason (and I have my beliefs why) Cam Newton rubs people the wrong way with his outward love for the game.

When it comes to Cam these same people want humility and not be demonstrative. The "just shut up and do your job" crowd. They will often say "I dont know why, but he rubs me the wrong way"

Those people need to take time and reflect on themselves and try to discover why it bothers them. The issue isn't with Cam, it is within themselves.
