I was definitely part of the 85% who were ok with it but felt we had bigger needs. Guess they knew something about Beason that we didn't. Glad Hurney made the right pick. Luke is indeed a generational player.

To be honest I had no idea who the hell he was. I think the majority of fans were like that. So I was in the confused category. Which is where I usually am anyway.

I rage stomped a Papa Johns box...threw my remote.  I wasn't thrilled we took yet another friggin' linebacker.

 

Now I feel bad for abusing that innocent fold of cardboard and TV remote.  They didn't deserve that.

I dont mean to be a dick, but honestly hardly anyone here wanted Luke, and many people were complaining because we needed a DT and we already had Beason at MLB.

I remember because I was one of the few that was praying he would come to us. I can remember a few others... Panther 55 and not too many more. Honestly, most people wanted Dontari Poe that year, which is understandable considering that Fua was our DT at that time.

I just wanted to add that that is why I am still a big fan of Rivera... Not only is his defense awesome, but he had a big partin getting these key players in the draft, even in the 2 years before Gettleman got here.

I wanted Fletcher Cox, which would've been a good pick up, too. But, Luke was fine with me, because at that point I was tired of Beason's 'best shape I've ever been in' hype photo shoots he'd do.

Yeah it meant nothing to me at the time. Top 10 linebackers add tons of depth and hopefully start quickly but you don't expect them to become dominant. I didn't know much about him.

 

But I was watching preseason football his first year and was blown away. So I said fug it I'll be the guy with the Kuechly jersey which was a novelty for like 3 games.
