Should we look at bringing in a new kicker this offseason? Or stick with Gano?

He is terrible. Sure his under 40s are good but whose arent?  When you cant trust a guy to make your 40-45s and really cant from beyond 45,..

Clear signs of a franchise spoiled by great kicking for its entire existence. Kasay to the uncertain years after his departure into Gano. Gano has missed a few this year no doubt. Ones he would rather have back. But you can't throw out the baby with the bath water. He's the best in the league on the kickoff and keeping the ball away from returns on special teams. He's also one of the strongest legs in the game, giving us a chance from unreasonable distances. Those two factors alone are enough to put up with SOME inconsistency. He'd be the first to say this wasn't his best season, but we've seen him kick much better than this. The tough thing about being a kicker is that you're asked to make about 30 plays a year and if you have an unsuccessful outcome on more than 3 or 4 of them, your season looks terrible. He's the same kicker he was last year. He'll be fine. The least of our concerns at this point.

Its true we need to finish drives as touchdowns. Thats a much bigger priority than replacing Gano. If your kicker never kicks field goals because you score touchdowns, then you dont have to worry about him missing.

I still believe he's a top ten kicker. In the last two he has the highest touch back %, as others have stated. But it does seem RR doesn't have the same trust, I've seen a few times he didn't go for the 50+ yarder. That could have been when the D was a dud, but no idea.

This fad of "hating" panthers ...... I'm just hoping it passes. Cam must have 100% comp rate, kevin needs 1,700 yards 16 TDs,, bell needs to first team all decade, aunt thor needs return one TD per game.
