Want to know why Ginn didn't get a chance to run anything back? Because Gano was knocking them out of the field or trying to break a goal post. I'll take a touchback rather than risk someone getting a long run on us.

I'm good with him still.  His misses have been slight leaks from 40+ yards.  Never really had a brutal miss and one of those was a block this year.  

 

 

I think the Falcons game got people on his bad side but he's still pretty dependable.

Haha it's funny just how quickly people forget things like this.  Gano was money for us all last year, has missed a few kicks this year and now we should replace him.  Every kicker will miss a few 40+ yarders.  It's the Kickers that miss the easy kicks/ consistently screw up that should get replaced.

 

Gano is no problem. He should rebound.

I am fine with keeping Gano for at least another year.  He is not the best but he is not bad either.  We know what bad is.

Yes we should look at bringing in someone. Before last year, Gano was terrible and now he's showing signs of going back to being terrible. Bring in competition to light a fire under him or to cut him.

He's good enough to keep his job.  He's made some clutch kicks since he's been in Carolina.  Yea he's no John Kasay but he hasn't done enough to warrant getting rid of him.  His kickoff touchbacks are so valuable.

NFL kickers are routinely expected to make kicks from 40 to 49 yards.

The Panthers best hope the winning field goal is not on that guy's foot

Just after missing one prior to that.

He hit 3 4th quarter chip shots in Buffalo last year as well but I can think of a lot more bad than good with him.

Missing that extra point in Philly to keep in a 1 score game in one of his first games with us. The misses in Tampa and Cincy during the 4th quarters this year. The miss vs the Falcons this season as well was obviously huge. Then the roller coaster he's been on all December plus yesterday.

He has a strong leg which is great but he isn't reliable in big situations.
