Should we look at bringing in a new kicker this offseason? Or stick with Gano?

GG is having a bad year. He is 29/35 so far this season.

Last season, he was better at 24/27, and 9/11 the previous year. In 2010, he went 24/35 with Washington.

I believe we would have won 1-2 more games this season if he made FGs.

FG's should almost be automatic. I am not expecting perfection but we can't miss out on key plays like that.

Hopefully we bring in a new ST coach this off season so that he can figure it out.

i won't flip out just yet. last night was really poor kicking conditions… gross drippy january rain and a field to match. i think replacing that turd of an offensive coordinator and getting some more talent in the trenches will do wonders for a team that shouldn't have to rely on so many clutch field goals in the first place.

He's a missed a few, but you can't expect to keep winning games by trying for 50+ yard field goals.

I'm more concerned about actually scoring touchdowns in the red zone at this point.

Besides, we knew he had been inconsisent in his career when we extended him. Can't really get all mad about it now, most praised the move.

To be fair and add a little perspective, 5 of his 6 misses were at 40+ yards and in 2013, 2 of his 3 misses were also at 40+ yards.

Throughout his career, the majority of his misses were at the 40+ range, and this year he was asked to make more attempts from 40+ (12 attempts) than 2012 and 2013 combined (10 attempts).

So, in reality, he's not missing any more this year than he missed the previous 2 years, it's just been done in a shorter span of time because he's been called on twice as much to make the attempts.
