Honest discussion on Cam's accuracy issues.

That's funny. Cause I never heard the broadcasters, Tirico and Gruden, bring that up once as a possibility. :phew:

Yeah that was definitely a factor. Cam was back and forth between the huddle and sideline often, especially if the ball was spotted on the hash closest to our sideline. I remember one throw he had where I think his arm was lightly hit, which usually doesn't effect him much, but the ball just slipped out due to the wetness, which resulted in a short hopper. Couple the wet ball and Cam's wet hands with poor footwork for much of the game, you get a bit of inconsistency. Even with great footwork, he would have had a few bad balls thrown due to it. Just gotta play through it.

God forbid someone try to give any of you constructive criticism, I feel like a lot of people on this board would machete someone's balls of if they were criticized.

The guy has some accuracy issues (some had to do with the rain). However, he's also a threat with his legs so there is some give and take there. He's just got to calm it down a little and get in his rhythm. The good thing about Cam is that when he's on, he legit plays like the best QB in the league. We just need consistency.

Even though he's not getting sacked, there's still guys flying at him because our offensive line still isn't very good. That causes him to rush the pass, or know he can't step into it, which causes the passes to go high off their mark.

Cam's stats would look great if Benjamin didn't drop as many balls as he does. Give Benjamin a couple of drops when Cam is on, and then look for Cam to start screwing up because of the "what more do I have to do" thoughts creeping in, lol.

I see this wr drops thing now and then.  Benjamin's drops are not a source of complaints against Cam by the Cam Accuracy complainers (of which I am one).  Its the wide-open pitch and catch receivers that stare helplessly as the ball is 15 feet above their heads even with Cam untouched and well protected.  THAT is on Cam.  And as big a fan as I am I would be a fool (and you too) to say that this is not an area he needs to control better.

Im not a QB I only play one on Monday morning, but I would suggest he focus on fundamentals more.... make them automatic so he does not have to think about it.  With out improved front he can now give some thought to this.

Quit reading right there. I clearly used drops to justify the dearth of deep balls or long passes, not his "accuracy" issues, which I wrote off as "inconsistency."

I was just using the title and thread subject, my appologies

Can't believe some of you are still talking about this, during an NFC game that can impact the Panthers in the playoffs? :phew:

I don't honestly see the point of discussing it. Cam is our qb and will very likely be the franchise qb for many years. Why create threads for something that we can't impact as fans. At least wait until the goddamn offseason if you want to talk about it.

Yeah, some people act like Cam doesn't or didn't acknowledge it himself. As the above poster said, Cam can have excellent accuracy when he wants to. He can make almost any throw in the league, it's more about consistency with his footwork more than anything. He'll fix it up over the course of the week.

Please write him a letter requesting that he "want to" the rest of the season..........if its that easy

Come one my man, at some point I thought Cam wouldn't complete a pass the rest of the game and he looked defeated. Even Cam knew he was sucking.

"at some point I thought Cam wouldn't complete a pass the rest of the game"....

Lol you say this as if it's some sort of indictment of Cam, as opposed to your reasoning skills. Where do these people come from?

Did you read the rest of my post about footwork and consistency regarding that? Or are you just trying to pick a fight over stupid poo? You sound like a dumb Cam hater. Please don't respond to my posts if you don't have anything intelligent to say.

THanks for an intelligent response that is not insulting.  I realize this, but I don't think I was clear.  I am talking winning and losing attitudes.  There are times yesterday when Cam looked defeated.  Maybe he was not thinking a negative thought at all, but that does not help others.  If Brady or Manning get temperamental, it is when they feel a need to rally the troops.  Things are not going well and they need to become leaders.  It just seems to me that Cam goes into a shell when i am begging for him to become that leader.  His facial expressions, captured on camera, do not instill confidence in me on my couch, so what are they doing to the youngsters on the OL in the huddle?  Even when things are falling apart, I don't think I have ever seen Manning or Brady look as though they are defeated.  Yesterday, I think we were there, until the defense stepped up and Fozzy broke off that screen for a TD.  Then the old Cam emerged.

In his defense, he was probably hurt and in pain when it looked as though he was simply frustrated.  I am not concerned with what he was feeling, I am concerned with the image he was projecting.  I also think Cam is too hard on himself and too easy on teammates.

I remember a game in 2005 when Brady was a little older than Cam is now and had just won his 3rd superbowl the year before.  He and the patriots were the anointed kings of the NFL and their glorious dynasty was cemented in history.

I realize that box score doesn't really show it, but we beat the snot out of the patriots that game.  Brady was under siege for most of the game, throws being rushed, hit, sacked, etc..  The camera would go to him and he would be pouting on the bench. Then at the end, Brady lost the game on a fumble that set up a Steven Davis score.  I remember the camera went to him one last time and there brady was, pouting on the bench still, face all red like he was about to cry.  Not the first time, and not the last time I've seen him like that. I've attached an example picture for visual reference.

Lately when the patriots have a bad game, I've seen him screaming and cussing on the sidelines.  Sometimes to himself, sometimes at his team mates.  I wonder what would happen to Cam if he did that?  What would the media say?

Even the "great" ones lose their composure, especially when they're young.  And you can't expect a 25 year old guy to consistently be this glorious leader to "rally the troops" when things get tough.  Sometimes bad things will happen and they'll be sitting there all pissed or sad, doing what a human does when things don't go their way.  However, those human characteristics diminish with age and experience.  In a few years, we'll have that veteren QB we all want right now.
