Let's talk Kelvin Benjamin

Guys lay off. He injured his hand weeks ago. Nothing serious, but looks like skiers thumb. He can play with it, but it impedes all receiving angles on the catch except over the shoulder of the opposite hand. I believe it is the right hand. He should only be allowed to catch on post routes lined up on the left side or left sideline fade routes. The rest have a much lower probability of a reception. Does not surprise me Shula could not work around this. Shula tends to play to weaknesses because it is his systematic playcalling he sticks with.

Skiers thumb takes a while to heal, but they can play with it.

Treatment for this is to tap the palm at the base of the thumb for relief. If you watch KB you will see him do this in games.

He doesn't just body catch everything. He often catches the back end of the football, with his hands, and that takes CRAZY hand strength.

KB is gonna be fine. He needs time. He is a rookie. I understand the frustration of not having a damn near automatic WR like a Calvin Johnson, or a Dez Bryant or any of the Broncos receivers, but we can't expect Benjamin to be that before he's had a couple of offseasons and regular seasons to actually develop and find his groove with the offense and with Cam.

I give ALL rookies the same window to prove themselves to me. 3 years. After 3 years, that is when I drop the "he's young" excuse.

Another person crying about Benjamin again... He is a rookie, and a bit of a project. We all knew he was raw coming in. He has done very well so far. Had a couple drops also had a few catches and drew a few penalyies. Jesus give the guy time to develop Jesus...

You guys can call him a rookie all you want, but our FO went into the season knowing he would be the #1 WR. I'm going to hold him accountable to #1 WR standards, because that's his job.

He's got 1000+ yards and 9 TDs. He is clearly injured in the hand. And the biggest drop was with two guys covering him and he almost had it anyway. He played against some of the best corners in the league today with a QB who wasn't accurate and still caught some balls. What kind of expectations do you have? He's not Odell Beckum but fug man he's def in the talks for great rookies. Oh and Odell's not even in the damn playoffs but KB is. Lay off him.

I don't even see why Kelvin is a topic today.  When his number was called he answered but ONCE.  As stated earlier  he was going up against arguably the BEST Cornerback, and just off of names one of the best secondaries. Not to mention that Defense was no joke this year.

He dropped one ball let it go.  Last week I could understand it....this week nothing to harp over.  Let's not forget the first drive where he was handling Peterson, plus a crucial first down catch along with the multiple illegal contacts.

Kelvin will be fine at some point. Hes got the Rookie wall and the yips that come with it.  A lot of people pull other names out of their hats but forget this guy walked into camp and was proclaimed the number 1 receiver with HUGE expectations. Hes played about every offensive snap, and has far exceeded his college play counts.

This game was done the right way,.. 3 short passes early, then he missed a good one, but we went back to him.  He still had 4 catches, I counted 2 drops and 8 targets overall.  Others dropped passes as well. Philly dropped an awesome touchdown when he got hurt.

Kelvin did not drop the passes to be "counted on" in college.  He dropped routine lower importance passes but made big plays as a big player in big moments.

He may or may not shake the yips he has right now.  He may need an offseason in a training facility working through it.  Then again, maybe all he needs is to catch a hard one over Sherman AND the best safety in football AGAIN to bring his confidence back,....

and to make the haters remember.

Amen, and while I love some Odell, hell I wanted us to draft him before he shot up the boards, Odell is the best he will ever be right now.  Give Kelvin a couple of offseasons. His ceiling is limitless. JMO.

Just like everyone, hater, truther, or homer, I want him to start catching the home-runs again right now because we need his yips GONE, but with Dickson emerging along with Shulas new found double tightend routes, Im less worried about it. Im actually MORE concerned with not having Philly and having Bersin on the field.  Wheres Hill? . I dont care if hes dumb-- just say RUN FOREST to the post.  Seriously just give him one of his 3 college routes to run every play.

I'm personally in the camp of thinking that it is more than acceptable to criticize Benjamin for his drops. Being a rookie has nothing to do with drops. I really don't understand why everyone thinks it's fine. It isn't and it's starting to really concern me.

Mike Evans does not drop those passes

Sammy Watkins does not drop those passes

OBJ doesn't drop those passes

Philly Brown does not drop those passes

Martavis Bryant does not drop those passes

Benjamin drops those passes and it is hurting the team.

He needs to get his poo together and the fact that more people aren't concerned about the drops just screams homerism.
