All his catches were body catches. On plays where he had to use his hands, he could not bring the ball in.

We've seen him use nothing BUT his hands to pull down some crazy ones. As long as he's not dropping it IDC. I don't think drops were a problem tonight.

I guess people forget how short a college football season is, much of his problem is he is conditioned to play 12 games and is having to play now 17 as a number one option in the NFL , and going against better corners then he has ever seen that aside we take into account the confidence issues he must be having, because of the drops that come from him being a tad spent having to play such a long season, to say nothing of going to the playoffs his rookie year, all that considered he has done very well I'm excited to see him after a full off season to learn and perfect such raw talent

we all knew he was raw as hell coming in.  body catches, drops, and some crappy route running are to be expected.  normally a prospect like him wouldn't be pressed into being a number one receiver from day one but he was.

 

proehl is going to be cracking the whip in the offseason and his second year as a pro should be more consistent

Anyone with eyes knows this is exactly what we were going to get pre-draft. He's going to make some plays. He's going to catch some passes for you. But he's also going to drop them when you need them most. 

He can fix that issue overtime, thankfully, but this was his biggest issue coming out of college. Just needs more coaching and some help in the form of 2 more legit receivers along with philly/olsen

I think the thing with KB is the people who watch him week in and week out know just how good this young man is going to be.  When he finally puts it all together holy smokes are we going to have a fantastic receiver for the next decade.  Now his concentration has to match his physical skill.  I think he'll get there sooner than later.

I'm actually getting concerned about his pushing off more than his drops. Seems every time I see him I can clearly see his arm extended. Saw it several times tonight. He hasn't been called for it but if DB's start bitching then maybe it'll be one of those things the side judge starts keying on.

I'd rather lock him in a room with Tony Gonzalez right now than Ricky Proehl.

Yeah, he's played like a rookie some, but he is after all a rookie.  A kid who can come in year one of his career, become a NFL team's no.1 and go for over 1000 yards in his rookie year, IMHO has way more than just potential.  Can we give the kid an offseason to improve before we BBQ him?

I swear this off season I would lock Kelvin Benjamin with Ricky Proehl and make him watch Calvin Johnson tapes and run his routes until his eyes bleed and he runs a groove in the field.

 

Judging from all the unprecedented times receivers just stop in the middle of their routes this year I'm honestly not sure Proehl being an amazing WR coach isn't just wishful thinking/homerism.

I wish Muhsin would get a hold of him and truly show him how to be a big body receiver and capitalize on his strengths.

He's had drop problems, no doubt, but I think many are putting too much blame on him for today's incompletions. The majority of what many are calling drops would have been very tough catches.

 

Coverage was very tight today, Cam wasn't at his best, and the ball was wet. Give him criticism when deserved, but not just everytime the pass is incomplete.
