Some Panther fans on multiple forums I frequent have been bitching and bitching ever since the game ended...   about Cam.

It's funny..  it's like they are more excited that Cam had 4 to 6 missed throws  instead of the actual win.      With the missed throws,  they can whine about it in every thread they post in.

Cam wasn't helped out much either.  Cotch, for WHATEVER reason, completely giving up on a route when Cam would've hit him in stride resulting in an INT.  KB with another pair of drops, one of which was near the goal line.  Dickson with a drop, once again near the goal line.  One promising drive got completely demolished by penalties IIRC.

Yeah, he had some overthrows, but he wasn't anywhere near as bad as some are making it out.  Neither that INT or fumble was his fault.

Like you said, he really showed some grit on that 3rd down conversion where he plowed through two defenders.  Honestly, that entire drive showed a lot of heart.  Here we are coming out the half after the team had started a full-blown self destruction, offense struggling, and Cam converts like 3 or 4 3rd and longs with his legs.  That entire series was the moment of the game, IMO... it flipped the whole script and the team really picked it up and rallied together after that.

If certain other QBs would've had a gritty tooth-and-nail drive like that where they put it all on their shoulders, they'd be getting ridiculous praise.

I'm ecstatic about the win but we're going to need all hands on deck and a better effort from our offense to beat Green Bay or Seattle.

You have to score points to win games in this league which is why we'll go as far as Cam and the offense takes us.

Our defense can keep us in the game but our offense is going to have win the game.

Agreed.

Also,  some of us take for granted Cam's ability to pick up yards with his legs.      When,  for whatever reason,  he is having an off game throwing the ball,  he can still move the chains for his team.    When most other qbs have an off game throwing the ball,  the chains for their offense normally don't move.

Take Matt Ryan or Drew Brees for example..  against our defense, they were struggling..  they were having an off day throwing the ball...   could you see either of those guys having the balls to drop their shoulder and smash into two defenders in an attempt to get a 1st down?     That is a willingness to do whatever it takes,  sacrifice anything.......to move the chains,  to win the game.   That is the kind of play that inspires teammates......when they see their qb willing to get bloody to get beaten.

THIS!!!!

This should be everyone's signature in my opinion! People are blinded by how well the defense plays that they want to ignore that in the end the offense needs to do it's fair share. Im not saying it is all Cam's fault be cause he saved us on numerous drives but to just say "our D is back" isn't enough to take us to the promise land.

Just look at Seattle! Of course they have the best D in the league but when you watch them Russel Wilson and their offense put points on the board and sadly that is something our offense can't do. The Panthers have proven that their D can play with the best but the offense HAS to capitalize. Talk all the poo you want about Wilson and Seattle being overrated but their offense takes the chances their D gives them and wins games. I know what I am about to say may crucify me here but if it was us in the Super Bowl last season and Manning was throwing all those picks to us we would have lost. Not because of our defense but because the OFFENSE couldn't/wouldn't capitalize.

Also pay attention to how I say offense and don't single out a specific part because at the moment all the parts, except the running game aren't working as they should. Cam is overthrowing/overlooking guys and not stepping into his passes, WRs are dropping balls and running bad routes, not converting inside or close to the redzone and Byron Bell is complete trash and making the whole Oline look bad!

In my opinion Seattle's offense is average to mediocre at best but they do just enough to put points on the board on a consistent basis. Sadly that is something I can't even say about the Panther's offense atm. I hope RR and the rest of the staff can set things straight cause I really don't want to watch us get blown out of the playoffs....

Didnt our offense put up 27 points? And thats with two turnovers. The game was sloppy on O, but this offense is better than what they've shown tonight, and even so they put up enuff to win. So your point makes no sense.

You must have not seen the part where I specifically highlighted(but I will again since you probably missed it)consistent basis. This offense has not shown that it can consistently perform at an optimal level hence the reason we are 7-8-1 and why I praised Seattle even though I consider there offense average.

Your post made me think you were short sighted but one bright side I can take from this game that makes me understand where your coming from is that this is probably one of the best defenses that was in the playoffs so the offense deserves some credit on that side but overall inexcusable considering how shitty the Cards offense was and the number of chances the offense had to put up more points. Maybe I just have to high if expectations but I expected better....

You're not going to put up 27 points against Seattle (and maybe not even GB) playing the way we did today on offense today.

Take away Fozzy's touchdown (Seattle rarely gives up big plays) and the touchdown which was set up thanks to the great field position via White and Reddick, and we had one solid touchdown drive (probably going to need two plus a field goal or two to beat Seattle).

The execution has to be better.

Cam can't be missing throws, receivers can't be dropping balls or quitting on routes, and the offensive line can't be having mental lapses on who picks up who on the blitz etc.

Overall it just has to be better.

Also, I for one think it will be better. I'm still under the belief that the rain hindered us more than helped us. Lindley sucks during good weather so if it's bad weather it's really only going to make a difference to the player that is actually good (Cam).

Obviously neither of you are getting the point. In every game there are aspects to learn and to teach from, that is what makes you better. No one game is played perfectly, and no one game is the same. Yeah it was a sloppy game in sloppy weather, and it was a blast to watch in person. We havent won a playoff game in nine years, and we won one against the cards. As much as there is reason for

Pessimism there is also reason for the opposite. Seattles d is very similar to arizona on the back end, and we match up well against them. Im not scared of any team we will face because I see the belief in the teams eyes, in riveras and in the majority of the fans. And that same belief is what got us to the superbowl the first time. that team was far from perfect on offense in fact we were worse at the one most important position and that is quarterback. So execuse me if i just want to enjoy the moment, instead of nitpicking our every little flaw.

No one here(at least me and CarolinaPanthersGuy)said we wanted or even expected perfect we just went better. I already said what needs to be different so im not gonna repeat myself just look at the previous post but last night was way to sloppy. At least for a team that is still and plans to be in the playoffs.

Also go ahead and enjoy the win thats why we love winning but don't hate on guys who just want to make sure we keep on winning ;)

I agree, the offense played one of the better D-line that caused issues, but we still had some dominate drives that left pts off the board due to mental mistakes more so than talent... Facing Seattle or GB the O-line should dominate and open up the running game

Survive and advance. The next game is a different animal with its own personality. Arizona's only chance to win was to ugly up this game. Without Bersin helping them out we win by 4 TDs.

8 teams will be left playing next weekend and the Panthers are one of them.....

And still we moan.

Lol

It's a common theme around here!  After any big win,  there is always a little group of individuals that will try their hardest to get others to argue with them about the stupidest poo imaginable.
