That's the thing aboout KK - he plays hard and can really lay the wood, but he seldom gets the chance since he's usually 7 steps behind a streaking WR. ALWAYS out of position, ALWAYS biting on play action and double-moves, ALWAYS causing remotes to become embedded in drywall. I don't hate the Panthers enough to hope he makes your starting lineup, honest to God.

I still think he can turn the corner, but won't his injury keep him off the field for a month or so? Out of the players already on the roster, I'd like to see Teal back there for that time.

Unless Teal is a revelation my guess is Godfrey will sit the next two weeks and play the opener with a cast a la Gamble '07.

there's nothing wrong with Godfrey, he's in his second season and all we've seen is his play in two ultra vanilla preseason defensive schemes. However, Quenton Teal from what i've seen in camp, and his performance in the base defense, is a better athlete. We'll see how it shakes out, whoever we end up with, will be a good free safety. KK is a strong safety....I don't even consider him him in the mix.. Wesley will see the field before he does

He was absolute garbage. He was the Jason David at the safety position. He was one of the first to go this offseason.

Second, I would never judge a defensive players ability from their time with the Saints. The defensive scheme in NO was so bad, that Urlacher would suck there.
