Ron has been forced into any good decision he has ever made, be it his job and back is against the wall turning him into 'Riverboat Ro, or injuries forcing the better player to be put on the field. His good decisions are simply a result of an ultimatum.

I think 2013 was his best job and it was really because he had nothing to lose.

This season was an awful job by Ron. A 4 game winning streak against bad teams doesn't change that. Ron doesn't proactively improve himself or the team. He waits until there is rioting in the streets and begrudgingly makes moves.

He's our in the box safety and I saw him avoid contact with running backs. That's all him.

The ball bounced the Panthers way all the season before this last one.

This one was filled with adversities all season.

And yet some think last year was the better coaching job?

I just don't get that.

Who is to say those players were ready earlier. Lots of learning takes place during 12 games of your rookie season whether you play or not. Good coaches play them when they are ready to play well. That's what Ron did.

Not a good coaching job at all. Pure luck that we are in the playoffs with a losing record. If just one NFC South team was just average we would be out of it.

I remember Troy Aikman constantly calling 09 John Fox's best year as a coach and it drove me nuts.  The only reason we went on that mini run at the end with Matt Moore was that Fox's hand was forced due to Jake going out for the year. 

 

This year wasn't as obvious as 09 but some of Rivera's personnel choices did not come from his ability to evaluate talent and injuries instead.

 

...it seems like once Riveras hand is forced and he doesn't have a choice things magically get better...The Jstew/Dwill thing burns me up though. To me, he seems kinda slow in his decisions, team wise and game wise...just win baby!
