Norman should be our Sherman

That's so kick ass the interviewer gets scared lol

Some of those sideline reporters are awful. Erin Andrews didn't know who was talking about Sherman, the Giants fight that broke out that reporter was wearing heels trying to get away. But Pam Oliver took football to the head and kept going like a champ. She's fifty something but I'd still hit it

You realize Sherman went to Stanford and is extremely intelligent? Everything he says, for the most part, is calculated and precise. Meanwhile, Josh Norman says "speculize" TWICE. I love Norman, but he's not quite on Sherman's level on or off the field.

I didn't realize that and I don't care. He can go to Stanford or Harvard to prove that he's intelligent.

I just care about his performance on the field, not his academic accomplishments. Josh has the tools to be as good as Sherman on the field even if he just graduated from a small school.

Norman has a lot of maturing to do before he can be placed in the same sentence with Sherman.  However, I like what he brings to the field.  With Bene on the other side, Norman has been in great positions.  He has dropped at least 2 INTs over the lst few weeks, but still, his coverage of Gordon and Jones was very professional.  I just think that Bene has been the difference...also, Boston.  Getting Decoud off the field and Bene and Norman locking down the starting positions has been a huge plus.  The secondary coaches have shown that they can get it working with some consistency and some young talent.

While being more intelligent certainly helps his off the field persona, I don't know how much it really helps in football. Which is what OP was talking about.

In that sense I am certain Norman can get on a similar level to Sherman. Because instead of that calculating intelliect, Norman brings fire and ferocity.

Both are good.

Collin Jones doesn't get enough credit I think.  Early in the year teams were feasting on our 3rd CB position.  Now they are starving. Not only Collin Jones ability to cover, but his ability to tackle has been huge.  Nickel is our best defense when he is on the field.

You all do realize that whatever Norman does well this weekend, it will be blamed on Lindley, right?

Doesn't matter.  It takes a while to be thought of as a lockdown CB.  Then suddenly one day someone goes back and looks at the numbers and "discovers" that someone is a lockdown CB.  The will go back and see that Gordon, Julio got locked down.  When we go to GB and he locks Jordy down then it's really going to be noticed.  However the real recognition won't take place until next year.  However coaches already notice.  He was mentioned specifically by MIke Smith in his presser.

As far as being a "Sherman". Richard Sherman is a lockdown "scheme" CB.  In that cover 3 that Seattle runs so much he is a monster.  He doesn't look as comfortable when he is required to move around.  Revis is a true lockdown cornerback even now.  Josh Norman moves to both sides (he doesn't play the slot in our defense if the best WR goes there).

Yea scheme makes him top itch because he can lock his side down. But I wonder why Norman doesn't follow his man into the slots?
