Good poo. If we are able to get an extra 5th or 6th or both, that would put us in great position to trade up. I know it's not Gettleman's style, but trading our 2nd plus a comp pick in the 5th to move up to the top of the 2nd seems like a good deal to me. Probably wouldn't have room on the 53 for 9 draft picks as is, let alone with UDFAs thown into the mix.

well enough to get us some comp pics, maybe a 5th rounder?

 

pretty sure we get nothing for Smitty because we cut him instead of losing him

in free agency.

A fifth won't be nearly enough to move up to the top of the second.  We win Saturday, and we're already picking at

25.  A fifth and our 3rd may get up towards the top of the third though.

 

Also, Getty has said he values draft picks, but he did trade up for Boston, didn't he?  Maybe it was Bene,

but an additional 5th for Getty makes me happy as a puppy with 2 peckers.

Comp picks are based on the value of the contract the player signed.  Not how well or how much he played during the season.

What you have to understand is the NFL gives out 32 of them every year. That is he only number set in stone. Everything else changes year by year. It's hard to predict because player movement is so complex. There is no blueprint.
