Deangelo and Tolbert

i wish a reporter would ask Ron who determines what player is on a game....

McDermott and Rivera don't dictate which DE is playing on each play....Washington is setting the rotation and inserting guys. That is the appearance. I doubt with all McD is doing he has time to handpick guys each play.

I stand by my theory....if Williams is active, our old RB coach refuses to prohibit Williams from being at least half the rush attack

I hope both are a part of the game plan on Sunday. Swing passes to to Tolbert in the flats or pitches out to Deangelo on the edge seem like the perfect recipe to combat the blitz-happy Cardinals defense. They seriously blitz all the time.

That said, I think neither should get more than 5-6 targets/carries in the game. Got to give Stewart the ball at least 20 times.

The run game has improved dramatically since Tolbert came back as a FB. It's obviously not entirely due to him, but he is definitely the best FB on our roster (seeing as all the other FBs are actually TEs). I'm fine with him not getting any carries though.

His snap count doesn't equate to him being the reason for improvement. Meaning he isnt being a lead blocker hardly

Cam and Stewart have always played well off each other....both compliment the other well out of the shotgun.

So Tolbert and Williams eating into Stewart/Cam touches is a good thing?

Run Williams to the edge? Easy loss on the play. Run north south on AZ with Cam and Stewart....AZ will eat that outside junk up

True, though he does still do SOME lead blocking.  Norwell and Remmers have had a bigger positive impact on our run game success than Tolbert has, but I definitely don't want to count his contribution out.  He also is a much better pass blocker than the TEs that were filling in for him were.  It's important to have another guy that can spell Stewart on passing downs and be effective both as a blocker and pass catcher.  Though Tolbert doesn't have many (possibly any?) receptions since he came back, he is certainly a threat in that aspect.  But the blocking is the important part.

Cam will gash the hell out of them if they get blitz happy. He will stand in the pocket and fire shots to Olsen or take off running for 20+ yards.

Arizona tried the blitz and pressure Cam crap his first game and he gashed them for nearly 500 yards. And this time Lindley is their QB and we have an actual defense.

We are one of the worst outside run team in the league. Stretch plays work because Stewart can cut back if the defense over pursues.

I got no issue with Tolbert on passing downs in protection and leaking out as a checkdown

No issue with him trying to get a yard up the gut

Him replacing 28 as a standard RB every time we sniff the 15....I don't like. Wish they would let Fozzy have a couple reps in between the 20s if they feel 28 doesn't have the energy to do redzone after driving down

Fozzy has the most pop to his running and seems to fight after contact. Need to use that

I feel like we should say no to both on Saturday

Williams can't get positive yardage and Tolbert is too slow. Guy needs to loose 30 lbs

Stay with the ones who brung yeah

Lets watch Dwill run with the better blocking line first.  Stewart is starting if Dwill looks noneffective then sit him.  But saying he can't get positive yards when DT's were 3 yards on our side of the line of scrimage prior to the Oline changes is not an accurate rep of Dwill's ability.  Saying Stewart gets positive yards with bad blocking means exactly that, doesn't mean he is better in every way

.

Edit:

He may very well be, but just let it play out.

Go back to last years game which is more relevant and then tell me that.
