The Bersin Factor ?

Ok.... I know we all love Sunshine. Its a great hometown story... but can NO ONE ELSE return punts?

 

Philly? Fozzy?

 

I feel like our special teams is still an area of weakness.... (See Minnesota game.). Hopefully we address it with a new coach and some depth.

 

If we make a splash in the draft with a WR, Is Bersin back on this team in 2015??

 

2014 Stats: 20 targets, 13 rec, 151 yds, 1 TD.

bersins catches the ball. at this point, thats a plus.

Bersin makes me nervous. So does the fact opposing gunners get to us with ease and we seem to take days getting after returners

Im nervous on every punt return. I feel like the odds of us fumbling and giving them a huge game changing position is always there.

 

If that happens in a playoff game that could very well seal the game for the other team. 

 

Our coverage sucks, our blocking sucks, I don't know. Fozzy might be one of the best in the open field with the ball more than anyone on the team.. but I don't want to see him get demolished with no blocks. Bersin is a pretty big guy. Just catch the ball plz.

On punts we should just rush 11 and let it go where it goes. Better than fumbling it and giving them the ball back in good field position.

we are using Webb/Pressley as the 5th WR

 

I can see how we would add another WR but there is room to keep Bersin on the Roster. I like the rolls that everyone has settled into.

I'm not a homer of any NC college but that Justin Hardy and Jamison Crowder look like possibilities.  Crowder is tiny though

Bersin's done fairly well back there.  He doesn't muff punts, and he's had a few decent returns.  I don't think he'll ever bring one to the house, but reliability has to count for something.

What scares me the most is the fact that it seems as if the opponent gets to bersin before the ball about 76% of the time.

Maryland has a WR Stefon Diggs... runs a 4.39 40. Has been hurt so he's projected to go in the later rounds. If available, would love to pick him up in the 3rd or 4th as a return specialist. Someone like him could really work his way into our WR rotation.
