You just got Norwell'd

I'm going to get flamed for this but I wish Cam will celebrate more with his teammates first after he scores before he does the superman. I saw Norwell after that great block trying to approach him to celebrate but Cam was dancing so he just clapped and went his way.

It was Remmers actually.

That would be a 15 yard flag for excessive celebrations.

you know whats sad, watch Bell on this play.  The guy literally gives up, pats a couple of falcon defenders on the back and watches them head towards the ball.  The play was not over and he stood there watching as both 93/95 ran over to get in on the play to try and stop Cam.  The guy is horrible.  I've never hated a player before but I cant stand watching this guy quit on plays.

This Bell hate is ridiculous! The play was not even to his side and he executed his assignement, getting them out of the play. Yet you are still complaining about him? What about Ed Dickson with him? He also did not go get involved.

I have to keep reminding myself that not only is Norwell a rookie, but he is an undrafted rookie.  How did this guy go undrafted?  I don't think it is a coincidence that the O-line started to play better when Norwell was given the opportunity to play.

Let's hope these dudes can play like this against the Cards...that isn't the Atlanta line they will be facing.

ICYMI, ARI hasn't been looking hot lately. They're run defense has given up 473yds over the last two games. So while I thought they will be a better gauge of our "revamped" oline, we may have to wait to face SEA or someone else before we can judge.

Except for Phil Simms, it's sad no one in the media seem to/will notice this. :phew:

you play to the fuging whistle.  He doesnt. he quit. but yet the guy he was blocking was able to get over and still try and make a play.  The play was not over.  Anything could have happened.  What if Cam fumbled?  Every carolina body in the vicinity makes a difference.  You cant just say welp I blocked my guy, I'm done.  I'll be over here when you guys finish the play.

I've seen enough of Bell to know he's a backup / utility guy at best, not a starter.

Had a conversation with my dad about this on Sunday while watching the game...

People love it when Receivers and WR's celebrate in the endzone... but not so much when QB's do it...

It has to do with the whole "persona thing." Alot of people still prefer to see QB's as this lead by example guy. For some reason that means that's being translated into Cam shouldn't do celebrations.

Steve Smith did endzone celebrations. Jonathan Stewart and Deangelo had touchdown celebrations. Tolbert dusts himself off after every first down. Wesley walls used to spike the ball and shotgun it when he scored.

But I think another factor we have to think about is that Cam is getting in the endzone more than any other QB, so you're going to see more TD celebrations from him. I think I'll take the touchdowns and endure the celebrations... and the very selfish act of giving footballs away to kids after every single superman celebration.

I don't know if Cam still does it, but he used to come flying in making the airplane sound at the beginning of every game. Steve Smith would talk trash and pick fights to get himself going... There are people that do this in every sport. Cam doesn't talk junk to people... He just has to do things to get himself going... I'll take it.

On Norwell... Im really starting to wonder how a guy like this was off everyone's radar. I was listening to Jeremy's interview with Trai and he was really talking about how hard they work every week. I totally believe that the key to having a good offensive line is a mixture of talent, size, health, and consistency. I hope that we really add to that this off season. Norwell is a monster but I gotta credit the coaches and DG for seeing that ability.

    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
