Bucks @ Hornets 12/29

Omega Atrocity

Recommended Posts

Last year he played out of his mind, no way he's doing that consistently for much longer if ever. That was the only reason he was worth didly last season, his defense is horrible and the defensive system is limited because it hides him. He's a 0 +/- guy at his best and a -6 at his normal level of play.

So no, he didn't fit last season at all. They had to completely develop a defensive system to hide him and when you put him on the court with other no defensive players like Kemba (horrible at screens and P&r defense.) just makes matters worse.

Add in the fact that the team thought he could recreate last season, they went out and added another piece that doesn't fit on top of Henderson, Jefferson and Walker not fitting together at all.

Last season was an albatross, making people think this was a playoff team when at best it was just like the Jackson/Wallace team. (below .500, 1-2 years in the playoffs as a 7th-8th seed tops.)

That first paragraph is completely inaccurate. Check his stats with Utah, the guy was a 20-10 machine. In fact I saw him and the Jazz dominate us on multiple occasions... live. Also his defense was serviceable last year. Sure McRoberts helped, but he was able to move laterally and at least keep the slower centers in front of him. Not to mention, Clifford's defensive scheme works when everyone buys in, and it doesn't really matter who it's tailored around if it works; we saw that last year. So yes, in actuality he did fit. Like I mentioned before, he was replicating his season when Lance was out because we were back to the system that worked so well offensively last year (inside and out basketball). If Lance buys in and Al gets healthy there is a chance it could work. That's why Al needs to sit right now and get healthy. If he continues to play through this injury, we'll never see what the parts could look like if they gel.

Blowing it up now is foolish, you'll get nothing in return. Try to make it work and if it doesn't then at least you get a good draft back and you can blow it up in the offseason.

You can blame a lot of things on Clifford, but I have no clue how that is one of them. Kemba dribbled right into a double team and threw it away. They didn't even get to run anything.

Agreed.

Obviously we need to run the clock down, but Kemba stood at the one area where the double team could f*ck up any set play. He literally invited that turnover.

Maybe he could draw up a different play than inbounding to Kemba 30 feet from the basket. That's how EVERY last possession seems to start for this team. They are better off not calling timeout and just running the offense in rhythm.

I'm sorry, but you're clueless if you blame that possession on the coach. You have to run time off the clock. And Kemba dribbled it right into the one area a swarming double team will get the TO. Just like was said above.

Last season was the first 20-10 season for him since 08-09, on top of that he played better defensively last season because he was hid...check all the analyst and reports on it.

Also in Minny and Utah he was a negative plus/minus player. 6 straight years of being a negative plus/minus player.

On top of that, he shot slightly better and above .500 for the first time in for ever. He literally played lights out and above his normal play last season.

I'm not sure what the play was but any basketball player should know better to stand where Kemba was standing while trying to milk the clock.

He was literally quadruple teamed by the half court line, the side line, and the two Bucks players.

I'd prefer no timeout and run time off the clock by dribbling up the court. The entire arena knows where the ball is going and who is going to take the shot so they are going to commit extra help to defending Kemba, esp on a set play after a timeout where they have time to get organized.
