Per NFL.com. Looks like the beat down they endured yesterday was the last straw. Lets hope Rex doesn't go to the Falcons and actually built them a defense. Hope the best for Smith in the future.

They had a search firm for a HC in place before the game, and THAT was the last straw?  I don't buy it...

 

Arthur Blank is too impatient, and that's going to be good news for us as rivals.  He just fired a guy who averaged over 10 wins a game in his first five years because of two losing seasons, without looking at the GM for not bringing in OL talent.  Dumb, IMHO.

Nope. That would be too hard to pull off. Some players are fighting for their careers. Do you think they would sit quietly and not leak an organized tank? A coach could pull off a tank with poor personnel decisions and game management, but Smith had no incentive to do that.
