He impressed for sure. Glad I don't have to make "who starts" decisions. But to be honest, when an offense goes no-huddle, I'd much rather have Colin Jones on the field than either Klein or Glanton.

I saw him play and knew him personally at FAU. The kid was arguably the best defender on that team by a mile.

It felt too weird having two white linebackers. We needed another brother to join TD on the other side. Regardless of whether or not he's actually better than Klein, he fits the bill.

 

That logic is....very...well not smart

 

BUT I will say I like having another black LB because I am that guy that accidentally prematurely yells LUUUUKE everytime a white guy makes a spectacular play.

Looks great for a UDFA, just as good/better than 5th rounder aj. Its unfair to the 3rd LB playing next to luke&td. Sorta like a NT your main job is to take on blockers/keep luke td clean so they can make the play. He looked good good in pass defense too, where as aj seems to struggle.

I hate to say it, but Glanton was always around the ball because the falcons were pretty clearly trying to target him.  And rightly so, if you can get the panthers in a base 4-3, you usually want to pick on the linebackers, and to pick on Davis and Kuechly would be dumb.

 

Glanton performed well, but I think a better team will be able to abuse him, as the falcons had some missed opportunities while going after him.

 

Just my .02.

 

Just like the Falcons burned him on the dropped TD to the full back in the flat. He was toast on that play.

The couple plays I seemed he was quite quick. I liked his speed. Seemed he knew his assignments.

40 times are irrelevant when talking about LB speed. The shuffle would be a bit more accurate. It isn't just about how fast he can run, but how quickly he can react to start running in the right direction.

 

Hate to contradict an engineer, but that presents a problem. The thread is praising Glanton's superior speed but Klein is quicker in the shuttle (shuffle) : Klein 4.35 / Glanton 4.50

 

Glanton is a slight bit quicker in the 40.  I think everyone in white looked fast Sunday, Glanton included.  Klein, as of lalate, has been looking good also.  Glad we have both, regardless of speed, reps, etc.

Looked pretty good to me and I noticed him more than Klein.

But with how great our secondary and Defensive line is playing it's hard not to look good.

That's because he's better than Klein
