Should we resign Byron Bell?

For depth at an appropriate backup OT contract? Sure. Bell seems to have a highly inflated opinion of his abilities and play though, so I'm sure he'll want to test the market. Hell, why wouldn't he if our offer didn't match his expectations? I think he's going to get a big wakeup call if he shops himself around though. Can't imagine anyone giving him any kind of decent money.

You are putting a lot of thought in his head. Doesn't seem like a fair analysis.

I don't understand the hate Byron Bell gets from the Panthers fan base.  By no means is B.B. a top caliber LT in the NFL, but he is also not the absolute worst. He may be in the bottom of the starting LT's in the NFL in terms of production but, he is being paid $2 million, this is peanuts for an LT.  He is not overpaid and he actually seems to be by all accounts a nice guy.  Plus, where would we be without him? Keep in mind he replaced Jeff Otah at RT when Otah decided cheeseburgers were greater than an NFL career.  I'm not some Bell homer, he's not by any stretch a top tier player but, not keeping him for depth at both LT and RT would probably be a mistake unless he wants serious money, which I don't think can be justified by his play.

You guys are underestimating how much Bell is going to get paid this offseason.  Anthony Collins got a 6 mil contract and he finds himself on the bench.

For BB, he isn't Getting 5 or 6 mil from our GM.  And Remmers is a much cheaper option at RT.  So my guess is that BB walks and signs elsewhere this offseason.  I'm guessing BB gets 4 or so mil a year, and Gett isn't paying that for a backup player.

And kudos to him-- undrafted FA that has worked his way into a very nice payday in the NFL.

Bell is pretty much the absolute worse starting LT in the NFL. Easily top 5 and the stats, tape, and eye test back that up.

I dont see him getting ANYTHING but backup money as that is what he will be.
