Giving Rivera credit.

Clearly no room for discussion here as your mind is made up and has been.

I look at how the season unfolded and give him credit for getting the most he can from the guys he had and keeping them motivated and fighting tooth and nail until the end. His staff are great teachers and they did a great job molding the raw talent into a team that can actually contend.

But I won't waste anymore time since you will disagree and try and paint as negative picture as you can. Meanwhile I am going to be going to the playoff game next week and enjoying the team for as long as the ride lasts. Today we actually looked like we did last year. Hopefully we get a better result than last year or in 2008. I was at that game and expect a much better result this time.

Ron and co. do a much better job of teaching than John Fox for sure but you can't(well you can according to myth busters) polish a turd.

He has been given talent by a finally competent GM who can actually hit on late round picks. I'm not going after Ron's ability to teach(especially defense) but his game and depth chart management are poor and we have 4 years to look to for that.

Today was great and we did look like last year but that doesn't just erase the bad or remove the fact that we still have a losing record at this time. No this isn't the same Panthers team that went on a big blowout losing streak but it isn't being negative by pointing out why we are here.

I think we will have a much better result than 2008 and I'm glad you'll be there to witness the W.

I was at that 2008 game too.  Let's avenge Jake and prove ourselves worthy to be champions.

I don't want to rain on this great win. Cause he definitely had the team ready. But the only reason this team got better was because of injuries to some duds on the oline and in the secondary. He still can't evaluate talent. Hope he's learned a lesson

I don't think it is true that he can't evaluate talent. He put in the guy who was most ready to play while grooming the younger guys for more playing time as they could handle it. When injuries hit he had to put in the next guy and hope his coaches had done a good job getting them ready to play. As vets like Godfrey struggled he tried to replace them but injuries kept him from doing it so we continued to struggle. As guys like Benwikere and Norman got healthy we gave them more playing time. We got lucky with Remmers and the projects and rookies jelled into a unit. Cam come on and suddenly we are playing well on both sides of the ball.

Rivera knew he needed to get faster on defense and find playmakers on the offense. It isn't as if he could plug in the guys. His system on defense for example requires everyone to know where to be on every play with high accountability. That takes time and repetition which is actually done in practice every day. When they ready to play he put them in.
