No need to throw in the towel on the season just yet. Yes the MVP and Captain of our D is going to miss some time, but it's time to see how Dan Connor really is...could be a blessing in disguise...and WORST CASE Beason is out until week 4 (Worst Case) leaving him with 12 games (and hopefully more) to rock the socks off of opponents.

Beason is ONLY out 1/4 of the regular season at absolute worst...my take...he'll be ready to go at least by week 3.

From Darin Gantt:

Sounds like the Panthers are going to be without MLB Jon Beason for at least a few weeks, after he suffered a left knee sprain Saturday night.

Profootballtalk.com, citing an unnamed league source, reported that Beason suffered a sprained MCL. The severity of the injury is not known at the moment, though Beason was optimistic about the injury in the post-game locker room.

He played three more downs after being fallen on while being blocked, but was on crutches and in a brace afterward.

In his absence, the Panthers will depend on Dan Connor to work with the starters.

Connor's been one of the pleasant surprises this year, after coming back from his own knee problems (ACL tear) last season.
