Home theater type stuff

Buying a new house with a great basement that's already wired for surround sound.

Gonna buy a nice TV probably in the 50-65 inch range. Not sure what type yet- used for sports and movies.

Looking at in wall rear speakers...unsure about front speakers and sub. Already have a good sub but may go with something I can put in wall also.

Want performance but hide as much stuff as possible. (Wife factor)

TV will be on a nice cabinet that can hold receiver, bluray player etc.

So... Suggestions, from your own experiences? Looking to start installing in February.

Dude, we can't ever agree on anything here. Have you looked for an AV board? I just don't want you to get steered the wrong way

Id skip the whole surround sound and just buy a sound bar and wireless sub. Very happy with my Samsung and it was only like 200 bucks

If you go in-wall, make sure the speakers still have enclosures.

Both are enclosed for the best sound and get great reviews.  I also just took these out of the wall after only using for about a half a year.  I took them out because we rearranged the living room and in walls no longer made sense since the TV is now mounted on a brick wall.  I'd be interested in giving you a good deal on them if you're interested in buying.  PM me if you want to talk.

 

As KSpan said, enclosed in walls are the way to go.  The ones with open backs are almost impossible to get good sound from unless you spend a good deal of time insulating the wall they are in.
