IT'S OUR TURN

Our chances to make the CCG would be no better at 8-7-1 or 9-6-1 as we would still be the 4 seed with a slightly better record. I want the team to win and then take our chances. I know that we can't do any worse than the '13 or '08 teams if we make it. If we lose, well then I will rationalize that the loss wasn't as bad as it could have been since we would have a better pick.

Big mistake if we win, as ive said in another thread. I have 0 confidence this team can make a deep playoff run, yes "anything can happen" but thats just like me goong to Vegas and saying "i know the odds are GREATLY stacked against me, anything can happen." Well ofcourse "anything CAN happen" but what are the actual odds it WILL actually happen?

Having said that, we stand more to gain from losing then winning. If we lose we A. Secure a top 10 (slight chance at the 8th pick) in the draft and B. We drop our hated NFCs rival the Falcns all the way to early-mid 20s in the draft.

If I truely believed we had a legit shot at a deep playoff run, I would be all for going all in. Im sorry, but in my opinion its not worth dropping that far in the draft for the "moral victory" of saying we made the playoffs. I would love for the Falcons to be the team we screw by dropping them so far in the draft while watching them be one and done in the playoffs.

You would be fooling yourself if you didnt think the Falcons brass arent thinking the same thing. They are going to fire Mike Smith (already been reported), why would they want to make the playoffs and hurt their rebuild by dropping that much in the draft

Spoken like a true losing fan base. You my friend are a disease to an organization who wants a winning culture not winning draft picks. Go cheer for the jags or tampa if u want draft picks.

I don't know, call me old fashioned I guess? I could never imagine any reason that I would want my team to lose.

who knows? If we win, in the end up grabbing a player at 20 instead of 8, the player we get a 20 could end up being a 15-year franchise player for us, where the player that we might have got in the 8 slot turns out to be a bust of Ryan Leaf proportions.

I'm just going to pull for my team at all costs, and let the chips fall where they may.

The Falcons are definitely beatable.

Anything, and I mean anything, can happen in NFL post season play.

Hopefully Carolina's Cinderella story starts this Sunday.

"Yes Charlotte, there is a Super Bowl and..."

So the Cardiac cats wait until the final game of the season to turn it on. First goal of ANY team is making the playoffs. If we make the playoffs anything is possible.

Look Green Bay kick our ass so we have the upper hand. They will think Game 2 will be the same as game one.

This isn't baseball at 162 games or 82 NBA season. Each game means something. We know we should have beat Atlanta the first time, shoulda pulled out Cincinnati game. Minnesota we lost because of special teams. Switch those around and we are 9-6 going into tomorrow's game.

Panthers are peaking at the right time. WHY NOT US?

I believe the Steelers were the first to win from the Wildcard position. They were abysmal during the regular season. But they hoisted the Lombardi in the end. WHY NOT US?

10 years from now, and we've been to the playoffs for 11 straight years, no one will care, or remember, that we got extremely lucky in 2014 to make it.

Keep winning. Winning begets winning. You can't have a winning culture if you aren't winning.

Beat atl. and we are on a 4 game winning streak, and playing the Cards, probably, at home. Win that game and we are on a 5 game winning streak. Football is a game of momentum. And that my friends is momentum. It very well can carry us to where no one thought we could go.

Of course, if we don't beat atl this week. Well, nevermind.

"Guys it would be dumb to make the playoffs.

Why would we want to make the playoffs this year when if we lose we can get a top 10 pick that might help us make the playoffs in the future!?"

-CP

It isn't as if we are 1-15 and have no talent. This team is talented and no matter what spot we pick at we will end up with a quality player most likely something of need.

This mentality is lame at best. These guys don't want to give up when they have a chance to win the division and neither does the organization. First goal of any team. WIN THE DIVISION. It doesn't matter if we win it with 4 or 5 wins. Win the damn division and go from there.

Exactly.

If someone really feels they would rather see the Panthers lose just to save a few draft posistions, just imagine what would happen if they had the opportunity to personally voice their opinions to the players?

Good luck convincing 55+ alpha males that bust their humps in training camp, played and worked through injuries and the fatigue of a season, overcame adversity and poor play to have this chance to win the division, that in your opinion it would be best to pack it in and lose this last one.

I'm not positive what would happen, but the players may try find out if its medically possible to remove someones fandom through their rectum.

Ok, so anything "can happen." When is the last time a .500 or sub .500 team make it to the conference title game, never mind the SB, I'm talking the conference championship game. The odds are astronomical, closest thing is when the 7-9 Seahawks won against the Saints and that was at Seattle against a bad road team to begin with. AT BEST we would win one in the playoffs against a Lindley led Cards team only to get stomped by the Pack or Seahawks

Well, considering we would only be the second sub .500 team in the playoffs (current format), your assertion is just pathetic and sad.
