Big mistake if we win, as ive said in another thread. I have 0 confidence this team can make a deep playoff run, yes "anything can happen" but thats just like me goong to Vegas and saying "i know the odds are GREATLY stacked against me, anything can happen." Well ofcourse "anything CAN happen" but what are the actual odds it WILL actually happen?

Having said that, we stand more to gain from losing then winning. If we lose we A. Secure a top 10 (slight chance at the 8th pick) in the draft and B. We drop our hated NFCs rival the Falcns all the way to early-mid 20s in the draft.

If I truely believed we had a legit shot at a deep playoff run, I would be all for going all in. Im sorry, but in my opinion its not worth dropping that far in the draft for the "moral victory" of saying we made the playoffs. I would love for the Falcons to be the team we screw by dropping them so far in the draft while watching them be one and done in the playoffs.

You would be fooling yourself if you didnt think the Falcons brass arent thinking the same thing. They are going to fire Mike Smith (already been reported), why would they want to make the playoffs and hurt their rebuild by dropping that much in the draft

Cannot win by losing.  Period.

The only way I would understand point of view is if I thought we would get Amare Cooper, but he will be long gone before we pick should we lose.  I do not like winning meaningless games late in the seasons but this one is not meaningless.  Winning back-to-back divisions titles and finally making the playoffs twice in a row could be a major boost for this franchise, even if the back-to-back winning season drought is still two years away from being snapped.

Late entry to the worst post of 2014 contest, but could win.

The Falcons are definitely beatable.

Anything, and I mean anything, can happen in NFL post season play.

Hopefully Carolina's Cinderella story starts this Sunday.

"Yes Charlotte, there is a Super Bowl and..."

Ok, so anything "can happen." When is the last time a .500 or sub .500 team make it to the conference title game, never mind the SB, I'm talking the conference championship game. The odds are astronomical, closest thing is when the 7-9 Seahawks won against the Saints and that was at Seattle against a bad road team to begin with. AT BEST we would win one in the playoffs against a Lindley led Cards team only to get stomped by the Pack or Seahawks
