Future is bright at the CB position

Anyone actually realize that norman is already 27 years old? He's not exactly a young player. I was kinda bummed when I saw that. Richard Sherman is a year younger and has already established himself.

Yeah I had seen that in an Observer article and got pretty disappointed, the same thing with KB he was not very young in comparison to his peers.

What makes you think that

Bc that is what he was drafted to be...he is good at it.

Nickel isn't a demotion nor implies lesser skill like years ago. It is a starting gig....and one of the first places high pass attack offenses look

i think we should still draft a corner. but what bene has done on the outside has been pretty damn remarkable.

we bring in another solid corner and we're looking at a problem thats fun to have.

to add we still run 3 linebackers out there and i'd rather bene be out there full time instead of just nickel packages.

what if bene turns into the next revis? (obviously not saying this is going to happen, but he has shown some great skills as a rookie)

he has impressed, i wanna see him stay out there and find out where this leads.

I still think recent compeition blurs it...

And now has people overconfident in what we are on the OL and secondary.

We have some improvement....but now people are writiing these spots off. Reminds me of people who thought our OL was set heading into this season outside of just the OT spots. Gs had never proved much of anything.....I think that still applies to our OL and secondary. Very small window people put a lot of stock in

It's why I said I want to see more.

Yes people here start saying we're set. No we are never set. We need to keep adding talent and depth to positions that lack or were still young at. But you gotta keep seeing what these young kids can do when they are playing well, even if it is against bad competition. There were still some big time plays made against big time recievers

but not QBs...only the Saints and they went out the following week and made the 32nd ranked D look legit

That is why I am hesitant....they have gone this skid without seeing one QB/WR combo that has been functioning at a high level.

Atl OL has settled some and now they present a challenge we haven't seen...will be different than a few weeks ago IMO

Why are people here always in such a pissy mood. I stated my opinion. He clearly is 2 years older than most of the people that came out, even in High School he was held out due to the fact that he was ineligible due to age.

I'm not in a pissy mood. You are just complaining over nothing. A ton of rookies are 23 yrs old. KB has the type of skills that translate to a long NFL career.  It's not a big deal. Steve Smith hardly played WR his first two years and he's knocking on the door to the HOF.

You can draft an outside corner to battle with White if he gets confidence back, which lets Bene bounce around, or you draft another specialist.   I felt like this year's acquisitions were far too "specialist" - you plug in your SS, FS, CB acquisitions and one of three worked.   Last year, there was competition at S and CB and things were better.  I'm OK with handing your incumbents jobs, but outsiders should work for it like everyone else.

QBR for DBs is a hell of a tool, but I read a suggestion it wasn't subjective, and I disagree.  It's somewhat less subjective than PFF's grading system, and I'm OK with their ways, but to assign a DB a QBR you have to know who they were covering, not always cut and dry in a league full of zone coverage, disguised coverages, doubles, and so on.  Doesn't mean I don't trust the ratings, but someone has to choose to attach the outcome of a play to a defender.
