WR Crabtree worth a look?

I liked Crabtree as a prospect, but Crabtree after a ruptured Achilles's? No thanks.

This WR corps needs someone who can legitimately stretch the field, not yet another possession WR. I really like KB as the possession/redzone WR and I think Philly could develop into that slot guy, but we need a legit guy who can take the top off of the opposing D. That's the big piece this WR corps is missing.

Is it wrong that I seriously want us to look at investing big money into Julio or Dez?

Guys with top end speed that make absurd catches on the regular.  No reason we can't mold KB into what he fits best: a beast of a blocker with an absurd catch radius to pick up third downs and score TDs.  Let someone else handle the downfield work.

Julio has had too many injury issues IMO and Jerry is gonna pay Dez out the nose, so he's out.

Honestly, I'd rather draft a guy like Auburn's Sammie Coates in the 2nd and hope Proehl can help him achieve his full potential like we did with KB. IMO, Coates can be a Torrey Smith type NFL WR which is exactly what we need.

Nah, I think I'll pass on Crabtree. I don't mind going after a FA #2 WR to play opposite Benji, but I'm thinking someone more like Torry Smith from Baltimore. Randall Cobb and/or Jeremy Maclin are ideally what we should look for, but their price tags are going to be stupid-high. Smith will be 26 next month and can be had for a reasonable price, IMO.

Crabtree hasn't really lived up to the potential that he flashed at TT and has only really had one good season in the NFL.

If Smith wears 89 I could break out my Reebok jersey again

I may not like him as a person, or like the team he plays for, absolutely love to watch Dez play. He fights so hard to get every inch he can, and gives 110% every time he has the ball.

Julio is out of this world.
