Beats are overrated. DA would have gotten everyone Bose headsets. He's a classy guy and takes this poo serious.

Bose are overrated themselves.

A true headphone lover, or someone with out an endorsement contract, would have gotten some good Grado, Sennheiser, Audio-Technica, V-Moda, Reference Level Sony's, or other reputable brand and models if they really took "this poo" seriously; if you wanna go that route.

I know Bose's noise canceling headphones are good. However, their speakers which so many folks seem to covet are actually awful and looked down upon in audiophile circles (and for good reason), while they're more pure, diverse, and accurate earphone selections available as well.

Have some studio Beats that were a gift, but find myself using my Sennhauser's that were half the cost much more. Just personal preference, but I find the quality of the Sennhauser's much better.

They also make the world's most expensive headphones. I asked a radio guy what I should get and that's what he recommended

Yes, Sennheiser does have the "worlds most expensive head phones-the legendary HE-90 Orpheus. However, they're not made anymore. Those head phones were made in the 1990's believe it or not.

FWIW: They were sold with Amp for $16,000 back then. And now, to get one with Amp will/can cost you upwards of $30,000. So yes, they're the most expensive head phones ever, as far as we all know.  Even the Headphone, without Amp can cost $6500-$11,000; that is if you can find one. They only made 300 of the sets (once of the reasons for their expense and appreciation on the second hand market).

Right now, the most expensive head phones are probably made by Stax, Abyss and Ulstrasone (in the $2,000-$6,000+ range).

Sennheiser, does make the $1500 HD 800 today. They're certainly not cheap at $1500. To their credit; many feel they are the best head phones manufactured today bar none (and a worthy offspring of the Orpheus; certainly competing with the more expen$ive offerings from Stax, Audeze, Abyss, Ultrasone and others in the high end market).
