Brandt: Draft position will likely be 21 (provided we get the W)

LT is an obvious need. CB isn't as scary as we thought at the beginning of this year with the outstanding play of Bene and Norman as of late but having a another solid CB wouldn't hurt.  That WR2 is a big need.  Philly has been great and I agree with Proehl, how was this guy not drafted by anyone? If we could compliment KB & Philly with a #2 that would be sweet. Safety is a concern and is a top 3 need in my opinion.  Kony has really up'd his game lately and put on some size but I guess getting another stud would be helpful, besides CJ is so hot/cold.

Biggest need....OC.  Wish we could draft one of those.

I like this thinking.  I think we have to go OT in the first round.  After that, SS / #2 WR and then #2 WR / SS.

The draft is faIrly solid at LT and WR looks to be a good group again this year.

I really like Whitaker.

if we were rebuilding, mehhh, ok.but you don't want Whittaker (situational back)or a late round draft pick (big what if?)being groomed as a featured back on a team that has a QB such as Newton.

D-Lo is gone,Tolbert more than likely, and INJURY proned Stewarts future is day to day.so,i expect DG to draft a RB in the first three rounds.

I have to admit, I'm really torn on this. For those making the argument "make playoffs no matter what, fug draft position." Keep this in mind, 99% of the time when a team is in the same position as us, one win away from the playoffs, making the playoffs would only drop you a few spots or so. Our situation is very unique and rare, our current situation has us dropping substantially in draft position if we make the playoffs or not. Dropping from top 9 to top 21 is huge as opposed to dropping from top 15 to top 20

if you could promise me Cooper would be there at nine then you may be able to say me but he will not be so I want another week of football before my attention shifts

I agree, but money has a lot to do with that.

sure we can afford to sign a LT and WR in the offseason via FA.however,i think its a bad idea to expect rookies to fill these two major roles on the offense and become legitimate starters from day one.Newton is prepared to hit his prime NOW and potentially compete for a championship next season.

Disagree. RB's are a dime a dozen now and can found anywhere in the draft. Work on OL and you could plug my mom in there and pick up yards.

Who cares about draft position when you have a chance to be the first NFC South back to back Champion. How much crap you could talk to rivals at that point. A chance to beat good teams and shoot towards a dream scenario at the Super Bowl. Not to mention...Dave Gettleman drafts like Rainman. It really doesn't matter what position we are in.

Get out of hear with the positional fall off and eat my nipple shorts.

Atlanta sitting at 8, we are currently at 21.

Could be a big difference in a top 10 pick and someone at 21

Could be but again there truly doesn't appear to be a big difference this year (although I reserve the right to change my mind if we lose, ha). But, for example, Cedric Ogbuehi was #1 overall in many mocks a few months ago, now he's our pick at 21 in at least one mock this week.
