We gain less from a loss in terms of the draft. Anyone with a 6-10 record would coin flip with ATL. We would come after the 6 win teams via our tie.

Of course my point was not that there is no talent early in the first round, simply there are high quality player throughout the draft.  Couple that with the infrequency of our post season appearances and Id rather have the win and the Division Title.

Let's go with the 8th vs 21st premise in the op.

 

If we had the 8th pick in the past two drafts guys like these would have been available.

 

2014: Taylor Lewan, Zach Martin,

2013: Chance Warmack, DJ Fluker, Justin Pugh, Kyle Long

 

It's a higher grade of offensive lineman potentially. 

 

I say go for it. Try to make the playoffs, try to advance. But Cam is going to keep us out of the top 10 for a long time in my opinion. It could be a long time before we have the opportunity to draft a franchise tackle.

We have an opportunity to do something no other NFC South team has done and that's win back to back NFC South titles. Technically if we were to win the Super Bowl we would also finish with a winning record too.

I also think THIS team would like to payback Green Bay and Seattle for losing to them in the regular season. Every teams goal is to win the Super Bowl but you can't win it until you win your division. We have that opportunity and I think with the way we are playing especially defensively. We have a chance.

So to me it is a no brainer. You keep fighting and win the division and keep fighting for a playoff victory until you win the Super Bowl or get beat.

It's a losing season. Nothing that happens next weekend will change that. When you have a losing season, you talk draft.

Win next week and we have a chance to have an overall winning season thanks to the playoffs so yeah something that happens next weekend can have a hand in changing that. If we make it to the nfccg we would be at worst 9-9-1 which is a winning season. Can't get there without a win Sunday.
