A little praise for Greg Olsen

Greg wasn't targeted much today, but he was absolutely integral in the Panthers success. On two crucial plays he was tasked with blocking for Cam, and did so in pro bowl fashion.

 

 

First on the Cam Newton bootleg touchdown....

 

 

 

 

and again on a crucial first down run by Cam Newton. Cam followed Olsen's block in a textbook manner.

 

 

 

 

The Pro Bowl is for players who are the best at their positions, in all facets of the game.

 

It is completely obvious Olsen deserves to go.

Greg won't be in the pro bowl because he will be resting up for the Super Bowl.

That first picture is just a thing of beauty. Both blocks stood out on the TV broadcast. Also Kelvin had two very nice blocks without holding. That's great to see from a Rookie WR.

Hopefully he gets his 1000 yards next week. I saw the big block down near the goal line on the way to the Stew TD and Cam did too. Gave him props immediately after

olsen has improved mightily as a blocker. he's become a true tight end in every sense of the word and i'd say he's a better overall player at that position than jimmy graham. he shares the top two with gronk.

Wasn't open most of the day. Few times I did see him pop open Cam was already on the run.

The Panthers offensive stats were not impressive today but the Browns did some good things on D. They had some great coverages and zone blitz's. Cam did about as well as he could given the Panthers offensive limitations.

Karlos Dansby, the Browns MLB, doesn't get near enough praise in the NFL.  Kind of a "lunch pail" guy that always has an impact on the game, always racks up great stats, but never gets any attention.
