"American sniper" the movie

just got done seeing it. wow. that movie was intense.

I left the theater speechless.

I have so many thoughts about it, but I can't even begin to write them down fluently. There will be veterans that see this and hate it, there will be veterans that love it. There will be Americans that hate it, and Americans that love it. It definitely sent a lot of mixed emotions...which I think is part of the theme with how fuged up war is, and how doing the right thing is not always easy nor clearly defined.

I don't know if I will ever watch that movie again, but I'm glad I saw it once.

Saw it today and really liked it. Emotional stuff for sure.

Clearly the movie was to tell his story, heroic for those who want to call him that (justified in many ways IMO). Also at times I thought Eastwood was painting him in a "negative" light (which I'm sure was on purpose), and I liked the balance. Guy was kind of a dick to his family for awhile, though the PTSD and whatever else he was experiencing are justified. "Subtle" little things toward the end like the belt, and the sheep dog were nice touches to show what he had become IMO. I took him going after the dog at the party as him becoming the predator his Dad warned him about. Kinda signifying his roles between the types of people his father talked about at the beginning. Great movie overall IMO

Fury was a good movie as well.

I loved the accuracy about the equipements, like the platoon of Sherman, with 3 M4 x 75/40 and  1 M4 x 76/54

But the film is ridiculous, especially the moment against the SS, they have enough Panzerfaust to dust a company of Sherman but they are still unable to take out an immobilized tank..
