Last season Loser: Godfrey

Preseason Game 1 Loser: Godfrey

Preseason Game 2 Loser: Godfrey

.......Fox needs to wake up and realize his mistake instead of admitting to it after the entire world has already caught on. No reason Godfrey should be our starting S imo.

Who has shown enough to you that should be starting?

I like to see the improved play of Anderson. The simpler scheme may be just what the doctor ordered.

We have a stable of athletes on this defense and they are slowly adapting to how free they are in the simpler defense. As soon as they learn the next step, working that way with one another and trusting one another, we are going to be fine.

NOBODY expects us to win every game this season.

NOBODY cares if we win or lose preseason games.

NOBODY should be forming their opinion of the conclusion of our season on any of this

Ron Meeks just complacently accepts not having a good run defense. It's nothing new in his system. What bothers me is how bad the pass defense is. What the hell was that defensive coverage on Ronnie Brown called? All in all, good game though for the Panthers. Nick Hayden will be gone this week, so will the following:

Jason Carter

Geissenger...or whatever the hell he's called

C.J Wilson

Munnerlyn...This boy is slower than Mark Jones, and slow for a CB

Leman.....Slow

Landon Johnson....it's been a good run...NOT

Morty Ivy

Ryne Robinson.....Come on Man....

Larry Beavers.....You're not welcome to the big leagues

Are you a moron? were we watching the same game? Munnerlyn beat every single one of their players in a foot race and if he was even just 4 inches taller he would have been a first round cornerback. And C.J. Wilson was all over his WR's as well.

Salley and Martin should be gone. Now the Martin comment might come back to bite me in teh ass one day but i can't believe the talent we passed up on just to draft him, we even passed up a friggin 2nd round nose tackle.

I agree about everything else except for leman, munnerlyn, and c.j. wilson.

I'm saying it was a mistake to convert him to a S and give him the job. Godfrey never earned the spot......and it is going to cost us imo now. That being said, who would do a worse job than Godfrey?

Actually that D scheme won a Super Bowl and consistently had 12 to 15 win seasons.

No, ask any Indy fan if they miss Meeks? They don't.

Seriously, Meeks' D isn't the reason for the Indy success. You can give credit to a team like Baltimore for that. The offense is what did it in Indy.

I was pretty happy with what I saw, I really like that Brown right around Jake Long for the sack an thought Pep had a nice showing. We had some coverage issues and missed some tackles, nothing that can't be ironed out.

On offense getting Smith back in the field will help the run game out tremendously, they stacked the box all night and we continues to run into it.

ST's was also promising minus the one fake FG attempt that went wrong.

Indy fans do not miss Meeks, that is true. But the fact remains that Meeks has had a #1 and #2 scoring defense in the NFL and the highest any defense under Fox has ever finished is #5.

That's skewed because of how long the Colts offense have the ball.

Munnerlyn made some good moves on a punt return, but despite that, he was slow....I don't know how else to put that. Wilson...is GONE. Leman is slow....he has good instincts, but he is slow. watch some film before spewing insults

goodlay-

I would have to check but I am not sure that's true. What is true is that at times it was easier for their D to pin their ears back and rush the QB because the O would give them a big lead. The Panthers O did the same last year in some games only to watch THEIR D blow it. And in 2008, the Colts D did not have the luxury of that type of O AT ALL. Then played from behind a lot and they flat out won some games for Indy.

I would have to say Foxy was little bit of a loser in this game because he should have had the foresight to call TO or whatever to make SURE that FG was attempted on the grass part of the field.

    • I would lower expectations on the 10 to 15. Chuba is barely getting 20 touches a game. Unless DC magically starts running the ball more (like he said he would), I don't expect Brooks to get to 10 to 15 carries (other than an unexpected chuba injury).
    • He has allowed 1 sack this season. His issue is penalties more than anything else. He is averaging 1 penalty per game. In general, we should have zero complaints about this OL unit. Especially considering we have been a bottom 16 unit for about 8 years now.
